Jerry Jones, are you listening?<\/div>\n<div class=\"m-detail-header--flexbox\">\n<div class=\"m-detail-header--meta\">\n<div class=\"m-description--list\">\n<p>We have reported in this space our opinion that the next head coach of the\u00a0Dallas Cowboys\u00a0&#8211; should\u00a0Mike McCarthy\u00a0not be re-upped for 2025 &#8211; should be &#8220;Belichickian&#8221; &#8230; a &#8220;task-master\/drill-sergeant&#8221;-style boss.<\/p>\n<p>Our reasoning? Under owner Jerry Jones, the Cowboys are quite a circus, and they don&#8217;t need another clown. In terms of Dallas needing a tough-guy disciplinarian, it makes sense. But what about in terms of what Vrabel wants?<\/p>\n<p>New York Jets\u00a0insider Rich\u00a0Cimini\u00a0of ESPN recently noted that \u201cMany people assume that Vrabel wouldn\u2019t even consider the Jets because &#8230; he\u2019s going to call up one of his mentors Bill Belichick and ask him his opinion of the Jets, and we know what Belichick is going to say.&#8221;<\/p>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-2\">\n<div class=\"m-in-content-ad not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-2\" data-zone-count=\"4\">\n<div class=\"not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d m-in-content-ad is-loaded\">\n<div id=\"ad-in_content-fc4d42ecf1244fda8585a48c29454ea8\" data-google-query-id=\"CNa-guTRo4oDFYdeDwIdZ2ENlg\" data-ad-size=\"300x250\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/88059007\/athlonsports.com\/nfl\/dallas-cowboys_7__container__\"><iframe id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/88059007\/athlonsports.com\/nfl\/dallas-cowboys_7\" tabindex=\"0\" title=\"3rd party ad content\" name=\"google_ads_iframe_\/88059007\/athlonsports.com\/nfl\/dallas-cowboys_7\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" aria-label=\"Advertisement\" data-load-complete=\"true\" data-google-container-id=\"8\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<p>And of course what Belichick will do is &#8220;trash the Jets,&#8221; per Cimini. (Which sounds accurate). But the reporter added, &#8220;I\u2019ve talked to people who know Vrabel, and he has told friends he would consider the Jets as a possibility as long as he likes the GM that they pick, so he says he doesn\u2019t care what Belichick thinks, he\u2019ll judge the situation based on its own merit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So what does that have to do with Dallas? Is sounds like Vrabel &#8211; who clashed with Carthon and with Titans GM Jon Robinson before that &#8211; might not to only want to mesh with his next GM &#8230; he might even want to have a voice in who that person is.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mm-embed-card--list\"><\/div>\n<p>That, of course, would be very Belichickian of Vrabel, and if he harbors that desire? In Dallas, Vrabel might be able to mesh with owner and GM Jerry Jones. He would even be allowed the authority to be a powerful lieutenant here.
