With Drew Lock wearing a walking boot due to a heel injury, the New York Giants might have Tommy DeVito back at quarterback on Sunday when they try to end their eight-game losing streak against the Baltimore Ravens.<\/p>\n

Coach Brian Daboll shared the injury news on Wednesday before the Giants (2-11) began preparing for the Ravens (8-5) at MetLife Stadium, where New York has yet to win this season, losing all seven home games.<\/p>\n

Lock got injured last weekend after the Saints sacked him twice and hit him 13 times in a 14-11 loss.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou always got to be ready for whatever happens,\u201d DeVito said after practice. \u201cObviously, it\u2019s been a little bit of a crazy situation this whole year with everything that\u2019s gone on. So, there\u2019s almost no surprises at this point. You just got to stay ready. Whoever\u2019s out there, whatever number is going to be out there and ready to be called, we\u2019re going to go out there and support them.\u201d<\/p>\n

The quarterback situation has been uncertain ever since the Giants benched and then released Daniel Jones on Nov. 22.<\/p>\n

DeVito, an undrafted rookie free agent who helped the Giants win three games in 2023, started against Tampa Bay on Nov. 24. He completed 21 of 31 passes for 189 yards, but he injured his right forearm late in the 30-7 loss.<\/p>\n

The New Jersey native said his arm feels fine and he isn\u2019t focused on the losing streak.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s just continuing just to prove to myself that I belong,\u201d DeVito said. \u201cJust go out and play at the highest level that I believe that I can play at, consistently. Just go out there and try to win football games. That\u2019s what it comes down to.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tight end Daniel Bellinger said the receivers\u2019 biggest challenge is adjusting to DeVito\u2019s cadence.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t feel like it\u2019s difficult,\u201d added rookie receiver Malik Nabers, who leads the Giants with 80 catches for 819 yards and three touchdowns. \u201cI feel like I\u2019ve caught enough passes from him, I\u2019ve run enough routes with him. We both know the playbook, so I don\u2019t feel like it\u2019s hard at all. But just another hill you\u2019ve got to climb over.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lock started against the Cowboys in a Thanksgiving loss and again against the Saints, in a game where New Orleans blocked a late field-goal attempt by Graham Gano that could have forced overtime.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
