Nearly a year after the\u00a0Kansas<\/a><\/span>\u00a0City Chiefs won their second-straight\u00a0Super Bowl<\/a><\/span>,\u00a0Taylor Swift<\/a><\/span>\u00a0has spoken out about\u00a0Travis Kelce<\/a><\/span>‘s on-field championship rival, 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy.<\/p>\n

Purdy came incredibly close to leading San Francisco to victory over Kansas City in February.<\/p>\n

However, it was the Chiefs who defeated the 49ers in overtime with Swift watching from an Allegiant Stadium luxury suite, jetting to\u00a0Las Vegas<\/a><\/span> just in time for the game after wrapping the Japanese leg of her ‘Eras Tour’.<\/p>\n

Kelce starred for the Chiefs in the championship tilt, with Swift getting onto the field and kissing her boyfriend five months after their public romance began.\u00a0The 14-time\u00a0Grammy<\/a><\/span>\u00a0winner and host of ‘Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?’ are still going strong 15 months after they first appeared in public together.<\/p>\n

While greeting patients at Children’s Mercy Hospital last week in Kansas City, Swift was asked whether her song ‘Paper Rings’ was about Purdy.<\/p>\n

‘I don\u2019t mind Brock Purdy. He put me through a lot last February. I was very stressed for a second,’ Swift said.<\/p>\n

‘Paper Rings’ was released in 2019 while Purdy was still playing for Iowa State and four years before Swift started dating Kelce.<\/p>\n

It was written as a love song, with the paper ring in question a wedding ring, not one Kelce owns from winning a football championship.<\/p>\n

The Monday before the 49ers’ loss to Kansas City saw Purdy asked by NFL RedZone host Scott Hanson at the Super Bowl’s Opening Night – ‘It\u2019s late in the fourth quarter, are you prepared to disappoint Taylor Swift?’<\/p>\n

Purdy quickly smirked and answered ‘Yes. I\u2019ll leave it at that.’<\/p>\n

Swift’s romance with Kelce was one of the main storylines entering last year’s Super Bowl and has been in gridiron circles since.<\/p>\n

The Chiefs look prepped to make another deep playoff run this season at 13-1. The ‘Eras Tour’ ended earlier this month, meaning Swift does not have any major concerts scheduled before next year’s Super Bowl.<\/p>\n

It’s also nice to hear she does not harbor any resentment for Purdy for nearly taking away her moment in the Vegas spotlight with Kelce.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
