Jimmy Butler\u00a0continues to be linked with a move away from the\u00a0Miami Heat. The 35-year-old has been the face of the franchise since 2019 and guided them to two\u00a0NBA\u00a0Finals but his future in South Beach remains clouded in uncertainty.<\/p>\n

He has a player option for next season and there have been suggestions that he plans to turn it down to become a free agent.<\/p>\n

Of course, Butler leaving as a free agent next summer is a risk for the\u00a0Heat and as a result, they could very well try to trade him at some point this season.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Los Angeles Lakers\u00a0are a team that always finds its name amidst the headlines. And with\u00a0LeBron James\u00a0approaching his 40th birthday this month, they need to make some moves quickly if they want to challenge for the Championship.<\/p>\n

Unsurprisingly, the Lakers have been linked with a move for Butler as well but it looks like a switch to Los Angeles is not on the cards for the 35-year-old.<\/p>\n

According to Jovan Buha in\u00a0The Athletic, the Lakers are not anticipated to be heavily in the mix for Butler.<\/p>\n

So, it looks like the Lakers are not one of the frontrunners in the race to trade for Butler. But there are quite a few other high-profile teams who have been linked with him lately.<\/p>\n

Of course, the\u00a0Golden State Warriors\u00a0are in a similar situation with\u00a0Steph Curry\u00a0and are believed to hold a level of interest in Butler. The\u00a0Dallas Mavericks,\u00a0Houston Rockets\u00a0and\u00a0Phoenix Suns have been suggested as possible destinations too.<\/p>\n
