FRISCO – The\u00a0Dallas Cowboys\u00a0discovered this year that their 2023 training camp suspicions were correct: A healthy DeMarvion Overshown is more than just a dynamic personality.<\/p>\n

Overshown, drafted 90th overall in the third round out of Texas in that 2023\u00a0NFL Draft, is also a dynamic player with 90 tackles, five sacks, eight TFLs, five QB hits, four passes defended, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and an interception that he returned for a touchdown.<\/p>\n

But he is facing adversity now, again, due to a knee injury. He missed his entire rookie season after suffering an ACL injury during preseason. Overshown rehabbed and returned stronger than ever in 2024, quickly emerging as a defensive cornerstone. Ranking second on the team with 90 tackles, he delivered standout moments, including his first career interception against the\u00a0New York Giants\u00a0on Thanksgiving – a self-tipped ball he returned for\u00a0the Cowboys\u2019 defensive touchdown.<\/p>\n

But his path to the Pro Bowl took a significant hit against Cincinnati when he sustained yet another knee injury. … as he tore\u00a0his ACL, PCL, and MCL in the fourth quarter of Week 14\u2019s Monday Night loss to Cincinnati.<\/p>\n

Surgery has now taken place. \u2026 with the \u201cgood news\u201d via our colleague Jordan Schultz, who reaches out to CowboysCountry.com with a message that counts as a positive.<\/p>\n

Writes Schultz, \u201cSources: Cowboys standout LB DeMarvion Overshown underwent successful knee surgery with Dr. ElAttrache, and there\u2019s hope he could return by mid-to-late next season \u2014 a far more optimistic timeline than initially expected after the diagnosis.\u201d<\/p>\n

And now more positivity of a sort from Overshown himself, as he is checking in from his hospital bed on Thursday – a bit groggy – to post an update on social media. And as it turns out, while he was under the surgeon’s care dealing with his major knee issue … he also had work done on the other knee.<\/p>\n

“I’ll be back,” he says in the video, suggesting he will begin rehab immediately.<\/p>\n
