It’s already a tradition. On Saturdays, the\u00a0NFL will drop the hammer\u00a0around teams and punish players for on-field actions. This time around, two\u00a0Miami Dolphins players\u00a0have been fined for plays in Week 15, during the team’s 20-12 loss to the\u00a0Houston Texans.<\/p>\n

Tackle Jackson Carman was fined $5,861 for unnecessary roughness \u2014 striking\/kicking\/kneeing is the category in which the play was included. It happened in the first quarter.<\/p>\n

Wide receiver River Cracraft was fined $6,250 for unnecessary roughness, with a facemask during the third quarter.<\/p>\n

To protect players from unnecessary risk and preserve competitive balance and game integrity, the NFL and NFL Players Association have agreed on a set of game-related rules violations that may result in accountability measures.<\/p>\n

Players are notified of violations and may appeal any ruling. Cases are heard by appeals officers and former NFL players, Derrick Brooks, Ramon Foster, Kevin Mawae, or Jordy Nelson, who are jointly appointed and paid by the NFL\/NFLPA. The decisions made are final and binding.<\/p>\n

The fines collected are donated to the Professional Athletes Foundation to support Legends in need and the NFL Foundation to further support the health, safety and wellness of athletes across all levels, including youth football and the communities that support the game.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
