FRISCO – Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott recently offered a positive rehab report after having sustained that season-ending “hamstring torn off the bone” injury earlier this year.<\/p>\n

The issue required surgery to fix and has had the $60 Million Man on crutches since the procedure … up until a few days ago, when on “Sunday Night Football” this week the NBC broadcast crew was able to provided a good-news update.<\/p>\n

\u201cDak tore his right hamstring Week 9,\u201d sideline reporter Melissa Stark said on the telecast. \u201cTen days later, on November 13, he had surgery, and I caught up with him pregame. He said he just got off crutches last week.\u201d<\/p>\n

All of that is factual, and\u00a0Prescott has recently been on the sideline before games and in a suite during the action … a habit that may continue when Dallas plays at Philadelphia on Sunday.<\/p>\n

But here is the surprise here: Stark’s report is being morphed into stories about how Dak is “a mobile quarterback.” Some have even suggested that his mobility can be improved with rehab.<\/p>\n

That is nonsense. All of it.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe said he\u2019s about a month away from starting to run and really move,\u201d Stark said. \u201cAnd right now he\u2019s focusing on core and upper body strength and building muscle in that right leg. He was adamant he\u2019ll be fully ready for offseason workouts which start in April.\u201d<\/p>\n

Again, all of that rings true, as that\u00a0timeline fits with what Dak has himself told us.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy plan is to start OTAs and start the offseason no restrictions, full go,\u201d Prescott said. \u201cThat\u2019s part in getting this jump on this surgery that we thought was inevitable anyways. At that point, I’m just doing everything I can to be the best quarterback and leader of this team to help this team come in next year with the best outfit that we can.\u201d<\/p>\n

Those things are achievable. But\u00a0Dak Prescott at age 31 and already lacking the elusiveness of his earlier NFL years – coming back from his 2020 ankle break and coming back from a hamstring tear surgery and becoming “more mobile”?<\/p>\n
