The Cowboys could be on the verge of some difficult goodbyes.<\/p>\n

With just two games remaining on the 2024 NFL regular-season schedule for the\u00a0Dallas Cowboys, the offseason is nearly upon us. That means we will be saying goodbye to several familiar faces who we’ve enjoyed watching over the years, but at the same time welcoming in others.<\/p>\n

Today we wanted to shine the spotlight on two of the Cowboys longest-tenured players who we may be saying goodbye to in the coming weeks, Zack Martin and DeMarcus Lawrence. After a decade with the organization, watching these two walk away may hit harder than others in the past, like Tyron Smith last year.<\/p>\n

Zack Martin<\/h2>\n

Zack Martin is set to become a free agent after the completion of the 2024 season and it’s rumored he is seriously contemplating retirement. He joined the Cowboys organization as their first-round pick (16th overall) in the 2014\u00a0NFL Draft<\/a>\u00a0and was pretty much a fan favorite from the get-go. Since then he’s been named to the\u00a0Pro Bowl\u00a0nine times, been a First-Team All-Pro nine times, and a Second-Team All-Pro twice. The future first-ballot Hall of Famer has been everything the Cowboys expected and more. No. 70 will be missed dearly.<\/p>\n

DeMarcus Lawrence<\/h2>\n

Although there haven’t been any retirement rumors in regards to DeMarcus Lawrence, his time with the organization could come to an end in a couple of weeks as well. He was actually selected right after Zack Martin in 2014 NFL Draft in the second-round (34th overall). Lawrence hasn’t been as well regarded around Cowboys Nation as Martin has, but there is no denying the four-time Pro Bowler has been one of the better all-around defensive ends in the league against both the run and pass over the years.
