The Allstate Sugar Bowl, originally scheduled for Wednesday night at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, had to be postponed following the terror attack on Bourbon Street that left at least 15 dead and many more injured.<\/p>\n

As soon as the decision came down, ESPN was all over it.<\/p>\n

The annual Sugar Bowl had to be postponed, and instead of being played on Wednesday, it will now be played on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The bowl game is one thing, but the\u00a0NFL<\/a>\u00a0also has a huge event: the\u00a0Super Bowl, which will be played in New Orleans in February.<\/p>\n

The NFL made sure to reassure that Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans would be a \u201csafe and enjoyable\u201d experience after everyone woke up to the terror attack in the historic city early Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are deeply saddened by the news of the devastating incident in New Orleans,\u201d the\u00a0statement says.\u00a0\u201cOur thoughts are with the victims, the New Orleans community, and all those affected.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    The College Football Playoff In New Orleans Will Still Be Played<\/h2>\n

    The College Football Playoff quarterfinal at the Sugar Bowl between Georgia and Notre Dame was postponed for 24 hours early Wednesday due to an attack about a mile away from the Superdome.<\/p>\n

    The game had to be pushed back to 3 p.m. Thursday as the winner will advance to the Jan. 9 Orange Bowl against Penn State.<\/p>\n

    The Superdome had to be placed on lockdown for security sweeps to ensure that nothing fishy was happening as the two teams and thousands of fans will descend on the area.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
