And he has some questions.<\/p>\n<p>And on Friday night at the\u00a0College Football Playoff Game between Texas and\u00a0Ohio State\u00a0at AT&amp;T Stadium, we&#8217;re told, he talked deep into the night with team owner Jerry Jones about all of it.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s the good news; Parsons intends to get the lay of the entire land when it comes to Jerry&#8217;s plans for 2025, and he wishes to be a part of the &#8220;America&#8217;s Team&#8221; solution.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-0\">\n<div class=\"m-in-content-ad not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-0\" data-zone-count=\"6\">\n<div class=\"not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d m-in-content-ad is-loaded\">\n<div id=\"ad-in_content-df7fa8eaf4f944a384d875845083889c\" data-google-query-id=\"CLLN1-Kn8ooDFbXzTAIdbxUinQ\" data-ad-size=\"0x0\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/88059007\/athlonsports.com\/nfl_2__container__\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cWhere do we see us going, how can we become contenders, how do we bounce back from this year, what are the plans,&#8221; Micah told us about his discussion items going into the visit in a suite at the stadium. &#8220;Those are, the type things that I would ask.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I hope he asks me things, too.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>We hope something in particular came up in conversation, because as it stands now &#8211; per our face-to-face conversation with Jones &#8211; the owner is poised to make a major mistake when it comes to his contract negotiations with Parsons, who is due for a contract extension that could make him the highest-paid non-QB in the history of the\u00a0NFL.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-1\">\n<div class=\"m-in-content-ad not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-1\" data-zone-count=\"6\">\n<div class=\"not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d m-in-content-ad is-loaded\">\n<div id=\"ad-in_content-b6482d09dea34b089ee1677f4d371649\" data-google-query-id=\"CPG1xOKn8ooDFXjzTAIdkiMJfA\" data-ad-size=\"0x0\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/88059007\/athlonsports.com\/nfl_6__container__\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<p>A central issue for Parsons is about how he might massage his contract in order to help with the roster-build and the cap.<\/p>\n<p>Parsons specifically noted, &#8220;I don&#8217;t want to hold nobody up. I want to see some of these guys back in the locker room. We have a great opportunity. I want to see change. I want to see players here. I want to be as aggressive as we can be. I don&#8217;t want to be a headache to nobody. Sign early, and maybe for less than the rumored $40 million per year.<\/p>\n<p>But Jerry is insisting that timing is irrelevant. And&#8217;s he&#8217;s flat-wrong.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You know,\u00a0everybody puts a lot on when (the contract is) done,&#8221;Jones told us recently. &#8220;My point is no, it does not. And a lot of us live not having all the things buttoned up.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"m-in-content-ad-row l-inline mm-in-content-ad-row--in-content not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-3\">\n<div class=\"m-in-content-ad not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d\" data-ad-group=\"in_content-3\" data-zone-count=\"6\">\n<div class=\"not-size-a not-size-b not-size-d m-in-content-ad is-loaded\">\n<div id=\"ad-in_content-54b9970d889841748248e94abfc83f54\" data-google-query-id=\"CJG6xOKn8ooDFXjzTAIdkiMJfA\" data-ad-size=\"0x0\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/88059007\/athlonsports.com\/nfl_8__container__\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<p>&#8220;And so I don&#8217;t believe the timing (is an issue). What I would really hang your hat on is how much we paid him and what he needs to be and what he is. That&#8217;s the big thing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I know I&#8217;ve got people disagreeing with me,&#8221; Jones added.<\/p>\n<p>Well, yes, Jerry. Because &#8230;\u00a0<em>You. Are. Wrong<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>With his fifth-year option presently on the 2025 books, Parsons is set to make $21.324 million. before March 2025, when free agency opens &#8211; and Dallas has another $10 million to spend.<\/p>\n<p>That is why smart\u00a0<em>&#8220;everybodys put a lot on when the contract is done.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>But if the Joneses continue to busy themselves with PR-related cap nonsense &#8211; including\u00a0pretending we&#8217;re wrong about how with a flick of a switch on the contracts with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, plus getting an extension agreed to with Micah, they would free up $100 million in cap spac<a href=\"https:\/\/athlonsports.com\/nfl\/revealing-dallas-cowboys-path-to-100-million-in-2025-cap-room-in-blow-it-up-rebuild-dak-prescott-jerry-jones\">e<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;
