The Los Angeles Dodgers bought a World Series in 2024 and it seems like they\u2019re trying to do it again in 2025. If they remain aggressive, they could make a play for a guy who has been a thorn in San Francisco\u2019s side over the years:\u00a0Nolan Arenado<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The third baseman made a habit of tormenting the Giants when he was in the NL West as a member of the Colorado Rockies. Even after he was traded from Colorado to the St. Louis Cardinals, it seems like whenever he faced the Giants he would have a good series no matter what his numbers in the year were.<\/p>\n

His\u00a0career numbers<\/a>\u00a0against the Giants are very good. In his career he has slashed .287\/.346\/.532 with 33 home runs and 113 RBI in 153 games. That is not to mention the countless hits he has taken away from Giants hitters with his stellar Gold Glove defense at third base.<\/p>\n

SF Giants fans would be enraged if Dodgers traded for Nolan Arenado<\/h2>\n

It was a bit of a relief when he was traded to St. Louis because it meant the Giants would only face him in two series a year which is much less frequently than when he played in the NL West. However, the 33-year-old could be on track to return to the NL West because the Cardinals have\u00a0expressed a desire to trade him<\/a>\u00a0and he has\u00a0expressed a desire<\/a>\u00a0to go to the Dodgers. Arenado has a no-trade clause in his contract and he is only willing to waive it for certain teams. The Dodgers are\u00a0reportedly<\/a>\u00a0one of those teams.<\/p>\n

At this point, why not? The Dodgers sign\u00a0basically everyone<\/a>\u00a0so why not add a player like Arenado even if he is not the same player he was earlier in his career.\u00a0In 2024 he slashed .272\/.325\/.394 with 16 homers and 71 RBI which was a decline compared to his previous three All-Star seasons but is still not bad.<\/p>\n

Our friends (frenemies?) at Dodgers Way\u00a0broke down<\/a>\u00a0how trading for Arenado would force the Dodgers to get a bit creative with their infield figuration, but they could end up doing it if they feel Arenado gives them a better chance to win.<\/p>\n

It would be supremely annoying if the Dodgers traded for Arenado but that is what they excel at: being annoying. They may even do it just to troll Giants fans by bringing San Francisco’s nemesis back into the NL West even if they do not have a large need for another infielder.<\/p>\n

A trade is far from a done deal, but if there is interest from both sides it would not come as a huge shock if LA acquired the longtime Giants foe and San Francisco was forced to see him a lot more often going forward.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
