On Monday, Kansas City\u2019s head coach spoke of the injuries to Jaylen Watson and Mecole Hardman.<\/p>\n
When\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs\u00a0head coach Andy Reid conducted his regular Monday briefing with reporters following\u00a0Saturday\u2019s 23-14 Divisional round win\u00a0over the\u00a0Houston Texans, he gave updates on two injured players.<\/p>\n
The first was on cornerback Jaylen Watson. On Saturday, the third-year corner returned to the field for the first time since fracturing his ankle against the\u00a0San Francisco 49ers\u00a0in Week 7.<\/p>\n
\u201c[He] actually came out [of the game] feeling good,\u201c reported Reid. \u201cThat\u2019s one of the positives that [we came] out with [about] Jaylen. He was fresh from the injury. You hope that he [won\u2019t] have the swelling that was taking place before \u2014 and still function at a relatively high speed during the game. I thought he did that; I thought he sustained when given that opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n
Then Reid spoke about wide receiver Mecole Hardman, who\u00a0suddenly appeared with a knee injury\u00a0on the Friday before Week 14\u2019s game against the\u00a0Los Angeles Chargers. He was\u00a0placed on the team\u2019s Reserve\/Injured list the following day\u00a0\u2014 and was designated to return from IR on January 1. So he must be activated to the 53-man roster before 3 p.m. Arrowhead Time on Wednesday. Otherwise, he will remain on Reserve\/Injured for the rest of the season.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll see how that goes here,\u201d said Reid about Hardman. \u201cI haven\u2019t made any decisions on that yet. But he\u2019s worked hard to try to get himself back and get going \u2014 but we\u2019ll see how all that works out.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
