The Dallas Cowboys’ search for a new head coach has been underwhelming. After a week of rumors and rumblings, it seems that Kellen Moore is the favorite for the job.<\/p>\n

While Moore may be in the driver’s seat, let’s not forget Jerry Jones is running the show. As sure as the sun will rise, this will be a drawn-out process.<\/p>\n

The Cowboys have only set interviews with three candidates: Moore, former Jets coach Robert Saleh, and Seahawks assistant HC Leslie Frazier. Deion Sanders is obviously a name to watch and insiders have hinted that other names will enter the sweepstakes.<\/p>\n

Following an electric Divisional Round that saw\u00a0Dan Quinn’s Commanders punch a ticket to the NFC Championship Game, Dallas’ list of candidates has grown ever so slightly. Something tells us fans won’t have trouble wrapping their arms around this idea.<\/p>\n

Cowboys’ coaching search may include Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn<\/h2>\n

According to\u00a0Fox Sports insider Jordan Schultz, Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn could become a major player in Dallas’ coaching search. Schultz noted Jerry Jones’ admiration of Glenn, who played for the Cowboys from 2005-2006, is a Texas native and went to Texas A&M.<\/p>\n

The Cowboys are lagging behind the pack when it comes to Glenn, who has interviewed for five vacancies this cycle. That includes the Jets and Saints, for whom he also played. Widely respected around the NFL, Glenn is considered a top candidate for multiple jobs.<\/p>\n

Glenn is a sensitive subject in the coaching world after the Lions gave up 45 points and 481 yards in their disastrous loss to the Commanders on Saturday. Some question whether Glenn should still be a coaching candidate after he was diced up by Jayden Daniels and Kliff Kingsbury. That is total nonsense.<\/p>\n

Glenn is just two weeks removed from holding the Vikings’ high-powered offense to nine points to help Detroit clinch the No. 1 seed. A bad game does not mean he’ll be a bad head coach. Just like if the Lions stymied Washington wouldn’t mean he’d make a great coach.<\/p>\n

Not only is Glenn a brilliant defensive mind, but he’s a natural leader and his Lions connections may allow him to bring over a top-tier play-caller.\u00a0Mark Brunell, Detroit’s quarterbacks coach\u00a0for the last four seasons, springs to mind in that regard.<\/p>\n

While the Lions crumbled in epic fashion, the Cowboys would do well to adopt some of their culture across the board – offense, defense and toughness.<\/p>\n

Let’s not forget that Dan Quinn managed to get a head coaching job after his Cowboys defense allowed 48 points in a blowout loss to the Packers. Quinn has the longtime-laughingstock Commanders one win away from a trip to the Super Bowl.<\/p>\n

If teams nix Glenn as a candidate because of Saturday’s loss, let them. Their negligence could be the Cowboys’ gain. The 52-year-old is by far the most intriguing of the candidates that have been linked to the job.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
