The\u00a0Boston Red Sox<\/a>\u00a0have had a busy offseason \u2014 at least on the pitching front.<\/p>\n

The Red Sox overhauled their rotation, adding ace\u00a0Garrett Crochet<\/a>\u00a0in a trade with the\u00a0Chicago White Sox<\/a>\u00a0and signing two-time All-Star\u00a0Walker Buehler<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Patrick Sandoval<\/a>, who will likely return by midseason from Tommy John surgery.<\/p>\n

They also upgraded their bullpen, adding left-handers\u00a0Aroldis Chapman<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Justin Wilson<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, the Red Sox have been quiet on strengthening their lineup. Superstar\u00a0Juan Soto<\/a>\u00a0rejected the Red Sox\u2019s offer, and outfielder\u00a0Tyler O\u2019Neill<\/a>, who hit 31 home runs for Boston in 2024, left for the\u00a0Baltimore Orioles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Despite finishing seventh in OPS (.742) and ninth in both runs scored (751) and home runs (194) in MLB, fans have been clamoring for the franchise to add another bat to the lineup.<\/p>\n

During an interview with the\u00a0\u201cFenway Rundown\u201d podcast<\/a>, Boston\u2019s chief baseball officer\u00a0Craig Breslow<\/a> hinted at what could be coming.<\/p>\n

Breslow told the podcast that the Red Sox are looking to upgrade their lineup by adding a right-handed bat. Reading between the lines, he appears to be targeting All-Star third basemen\u00a0Alex Bregman<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Nolan Arenado<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re still very much engaged in trying to bring in a right-handed hitter, obviously one that we think can be a difference-maker,\u201d Breslow told \u201cFenway Rundown\u201d host Chris Cotillo. \u201cI think it\u2019s fair to say that in some respects, maybe the roster is a bit incomplete. But we\u2019re going to continue to work really hard to try to round it out.\u201d<\/p>\n
