The MLB offseason is starting to wind down, and as teams decide whether they are going to be true contenders, there is still the opportunity to make moves that aren’t from the free agent market.<\/p>\n

There has been rumbling between the\u00a0Chicago Cubs<\/a>\u00a0being willing to move Seiya Suzuki and the\u00a0Boston Red Sox<\/a>\u00a0could be a suitor, among other teams.<\/p>\n

The deal makes sense for both teams, as the Red Sox would acquire a strong right-handed for the middle of the order, and\u00a0the Cubs<\/a> could clear some cap space as they’ll pay Suzuki $21 million for each of the next two seasons.<\/p>\n

The trade proposal could send shortstop Franklin Arias, third-baseman Romy Gonz\u00e1lez, and starting pitcher Brayan Bello to the Cubs in return for Suzuki.<\/p>\n

Arias is considered a top-50 prospect, and while the Cubs have an incredible farm system, having more prospects isn’t a bad plan.<\/p>\n

Gon\u00e1lez played in 89 games with the Red Sox and posted a .266 average, scored 25 runs, and stole 11 bases.<\/p>\n
