Cowboys ex Martellus Bennett has just cashed in on his accomplishment by selling his ring for $88,125 at auction.<\/div>\n

FRISCO – Martellus Bennett’s time with his home-state\u00a0Dallas Cowboys\u00a0was tumultuous. The 2008\u00a0NFL Draft\u00a0second-round pick from\u00a0Texas A&M\u00a0was viewed as the heir to Jason Witten, but instead, “Marty B” played for six different teams during a 10-year career that was dotted by unfulfilled potential.<\/p>\n

But …<\/p>\n

He did with a\u00a0Super Bowl\u00a0ring at the very end of his career.<\/p>\n

And now his ownership of that ring is also at its end.<\/p>\n

In the high-water mark of his time in the\u00a0NFL, on February 5, 2017, Bennett was part of the Patriots team that won Super Bowl LI – an infamous win as his\u00a0New England Patriots\u00a0won 34-28 in OT … aftr having trailed 28-3 at halftime to the Falcons.<\/p>\n

Marty B was a factor in the game as he recorded five catches for 62 yards.<\/p>\n

One of his rewards? A Super Bowl ring – that he just sold.<\/p>\n

Bennett has just cashed in on his accomplishment by selling his ring for\u00a0$88,125\u00a0at auction.<\/p>\n

There are some fans who can’t believe he’d sell it … and others who think he should’ve gotten more for it, given that it carries with it the significance of being tied to the GOAT\u00a0Tom Brady, who was his Pats QB.<\/p>\n

Brady would pile up the Super Bowl wins … while Bennett would continue bouncing around a bit.<\/p>\n

Bennett, who reportedly becomes the first Patriots player to sell his ring from that dynastic team, was with the Cowboys for the first four years of his career and hit another high mark when he made a Pro Bowl as a member of the\u00a0Chicago Bears.<\/p>\n

Was any of it sentimental to him? Maybe … but not sentimental enough to be seen as more valuable than the cold, hard cash of $88,125.<\/p>\n
