The\u00a0Dallas Cowboys\u00a0entered the 2024 offseason with\u00a0much speculation<\/a>\u00a0surrounding the future of CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott.<\/span><\/p>\n

Owner Jerry Jones would extend the contracts of both players before the start of the regular season. However, the delay in negotiations cost the team an opportunity to free up cap space to make additional roster moves in free agency to make the Cowboys competitive in 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Sunday morning, Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of the\u00a0NFL Network\u00a0reported<\/em>\u00a0the Cowboys have had discussions about trading pass rusher Micah Parsons this spring.<\/p>\n

<\/span>\u201cNormally open with his opinions, the Cowboys\u2019 25-year-old superstar \u00a0(Parsons) hasn\u2019t said much of anything about the team\u2019s promotion of Brian Schottenheimer after a surprise parting of ways with head coach Mike McCarthy \u2014 a move Parsons called \u2018devastating,’\u201d Rapoport wrote. \u201cWhile there have been no trade talks, sources say there have at least been some internal discussions about whether to pay Parsons or trade him for a king\u2019s ransom.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIf the Cowboys are willing to listen, they may get it. Cowboys COO Stephen Jones told NFL.com in December that the team will study the wisdom of having so much money invested in so few players, but added: \u2018I can\u2019t imagine there\u2019s a scenario where he\u2019s not wearing a star on his helmet.\u2019 Parsons is due about $24 million on the fifth-year option year on his rookie contract in 2025.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
