The 2024\u00a0NFL<\/a>\u00a0season has come to a close following\u00a0Super Bowl<\/a>\u00a059 — a game which ended 40-22 in favor of the\u00a0Philadelphia Eagles<\/a>, ending the\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs<\/a>‘ pursuit of a third-straight win in the big game.<\/p>\n

Just before the Super Bowl, the NFL Honors took place and awards were handed out to their respective winners. One of the most controversial awards was the MVP — which happened to be a tossup between\u00a0Baltimore Ravens<\/a>\u00a0quarterback<\/a>\u00a0Lamar Jackson<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Buffalo Bills<\/a>\u00a0quarterback\u00a0Josh Allen<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Evidently, Jackson wasn’t able to capture the hat trick with a third MVP victory and, instead, the Bills superstar took home the award for the first time in his career.<\/p>\n

No matter which way the vote would have when, in favor of Jackson or Allen, there was going to be an upset party, wishing or thinking the vote should have swung in a different direction.<\/p>\n

Many pundits and analysts have gone to bat for Jackson after he led the Ravens to a 12-5 season — though none have as much as his Baltimore teammates.<\/p>\n

Ravens superstar running back\u00a0Derrick Henry<\/a>\u00a0recently spoke out in favor of Jackson during an appearance on\u00a0Micah Parson’s podcast, “The Edge.”<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cOf course I\u2019m going to be a little biased toward Lamar because he\u2019s my teammate,\u201d Henry said. \u201cI just thought it was a no-brainer that he should\u2019ve won. 41 touchdowns, four interceptions, almost 1,000 [rushing] yards.\u201d<\/p>\n

It’s not a shock Henry was going to support his teammate and claim he deserved the MVP award — that’s what most teammates would do.<\/p>\n

Rashod Bateman is another Ravens player who recently spoke out and made a statement regarding the MVP trophy.<\/p>\n

Regardless, Jackson is focused on something more important than an award victory. The club fell short in the postseason once again, losing to the Bills in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.<\/p>\n
