It was a disappointing year for the\u00a0Dallas Cowboys<\/a>, who put together a 7-10 record and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2020.<\/p>\n

What really threw a wrench in their season was starting\u00a0quarterback<\/a>\u00a0Dak Prescott suffering a hamstring injury in Week 9 that sidelined him the rest of the season.<\/p>\n

However, he’s set to return in 2025, marking what will be the first season of his\u00a0four-year $240 million extension<\/a>.\u00a0Ian Valentino of\u00a0the 33rd Team\u00a0<\/a>thinks Prescott will have some extra help, predicting the Cowboys will sign wide receiver Amari Cooper in free agency.<\/p>\n

Cooper is coming off a down year, appearing in 14 games (eight for the\u00a0Buffalo Bills<\/a>\u00a0and six for the\u00a0Cleveland Browns<\/a>), in which he accumulated 44 receptions, 547 yards and four touchdowns.<\/p>\n

A bounce-back year in 2025 could be in the works, though, because he’s been very consistent since joining the\u00a0NFL<\/a> in 2015, appearing in five Pro Bowls and having at least 1,000 receiving yards in seven of his 10 seasons.<\/p>\n

Cooper also wouldn’t need to carry the burden of being the team’s top target, as that’s a role wide receiver\u00a0CeeDee Lamb<\/a>\u00a0has held every year since 2021.<\/p>\n

This would be Cooper’s second stint with the Cowboys. He was traded by the then Oakland Raiders to the Cowboys in 2018 and stayed in Dallas until the end of the 2021 season. In that time, he appeared in 56 games, reeling in 292 receptions, 3,893 yards and 27 touchdowns.<\/p>\n

If the Cowboys do want him back, it will cost them, as\u00a0Spotrac<\/a>\u00a0places his market value at $14.2 million annually.<\/p>\n
