That\u2019s according to\u00a0ESPN\u2019s Ben Solak, who made a compelling case for why this trade makes sense.<\/p>\n<p>Solak believes \u201cthe Ravens would love to add Landry to their room, which lacks legitimate pass rush juice.\u201d Whether or not the Ravens are indeed lacking for juice on the edges is open for debate, but what\u2019s certain is two of their primary pass-rushers,\u00a0Kyle Van Noy\u00a0and\u00a0Odafe Oweh, \u201care signed only through 2025.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"AdThrive_Content_1_desktop\" class=\"adthrive-ad adthrive-content adthrive-content-1 adthrive-ad-cls\" data-google-query-id=\"\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/18190176,25816858\/AdThrive_Content_1\/5ad7479721520f50ab7da88e_0__container__\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"google-ad-manager-fallback-container\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Their uncertain futures would make a deal for Landry timely. Particularly when Solak\u2019s colleague\u00a0Adam Schefter\u00a0reported on February 26 the Titans made Landry available for trade.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"0d8c9b0b97a863411de60463d520e518\" class=\"embed_container\">\n<div class=\"tweet-container\">\n<article class=\"tweet-container_article\">\n<div class=\"tweet-container_header \">\n<div class=\"tweet-header__author tweet-header__author--verified\">\n<div class=\"tweet-header__meta\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"tweet-header-brand\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"tweet-body\">\n<p>Titans have granted permission to former Pro-Bowl LB Harold Landry to seek a trade, per sources. Landry started all 17 games last season, finishing with 71 tackles, nine sacks, 18 pressures and four pass deflections. The 28-year-old Landry has 31.5 sacks in the last three seasons\u2026<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"tweet-media tweet-media--1\">\n<div class=\"tweet-media__container\"><a class=\"tweet-media__img\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AdamSchefter\/status\/1894729070090334434\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow external\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"visible\" draggable=\"true\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/GktuC4kXoAEmfm4.jpg?format=jpg&amp;name=small\" alt=\"Image\" data-lazy-load=\"\" data-src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/GktuC4kXoAEmfm4.jpg?format=jpg&amp;name=small\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"tweet-actions\"><\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Adding a supporting piece alongside Oweh and Van Noy for the cost of a mid-round pick would be a bargain for the Ravens. Especially when Solak expects DeCosta would \u201crestructure\u201d Landry\u2019s contract, \u201cconverting a lot of his base salary into signing bonus money they can prorate over void years.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"AdThrive_Content_2_desktop\" class=\"adthrive-ad adthrive-content adthrive-content-2 adthrive-ad-cls\" data-google-query-id=\"\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/18190176,25816858\/AdThrive_Content_2\/5ad7479721520f50ab7da88e_0__container__\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"google-ad-manager-fallback-container\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Those kinds of cap mechanics are going to have to be DeCosta\u2019s focus this offseason. If he can perform them and add a proven commodity to an already loaded front seven, it will be a A-grade offseason for the Ravens.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Harold Landry a Natural for Ravens Defense<\/h2>\n<p>Landry possesses exactly the kind of hybrid skills the Ravens have made a feature on the edges of their defenses for years. As\u00a0Solak put it, \u201cLandry has enough coverage ability to work in the system and can provide an immediate pass-rush impact at a position the Ravens have consistently missed on draft picks and need quick help.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If there\u2019s a concern it\u2019s declining numbers. The 28-year-old missed the 2022 season with a torn ACL, but he since hasn\u2019t come close to tallying the career-high 12.5 sacks he notched in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Landry\u2019s production has remained solid, 10.5 sacks in 2023 and nine last season. He\u2019s also registered just 26 and 18 pressures across the same season, a far cry from the 43 he generated in \u201921, per\u00a0Pro Football Reference.<\/p>\n<div id=\"AdThrive_Content_3_desktop\" class=\"adthrive-ad adthrive-content adthrive-content-3 adthrive-ad-cls\" data-google-query-id=\"\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/18190176,25816858\/AdThrive_Content_3\/5ad7479721520f50ab7da88e_0__container__\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"google-ad-manager-fallback-container\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>No. 58 remains an \u201ceffective pressure player\u201d because of \u201cactive hands, use of bend and turning the corner,\u201d according to\u00a0Panthers Wire writer Jared Feinberg.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"ad5b19548228ce7928f7c0916c0b5814\" class=\"embed_container\">\n<div class=\"tweet-container\">\n<article class=\"tweet-container_article\">\n<div class=\"tweet-container_header \">\n<div class=\"tweet-header__author \">\n<div class=\"tweet-header__meta\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"tweet-header-brand\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"tweet-body\">\n<p>Went through the last couple of seasons of Tennessee Titans EDGE Harold Landry, who requested a trade from the team today.<\/p>\n<p>Doesn\u2019t have elite explosiveness but it\u2019s still good. Effective on stunts, active hands, use of bend and turning the corner, effective pressure player.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"tweet-media tweet-media--1\">\n<div class=\"tweet-media__container\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"tweet-actions\"><\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the answer to still getting the best out of Landry is to reduce his workload. It\u2019s an idea\u00a0detailed by Solak: \u201cImagine taking a speed rusher such as Landry and giving him 400 snaps instead of 800. Imagine primarily deploying him on passing downs and keeping his legs fresh for postseason football. And Landry still has enough juice to make disruptive plays. His get-off, as measured by NFL Next Gen Stats last season, was the fastest of his career (0.72 seconds). Only Nick Bosa and Myles Garrett were faster.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"AdThrive_Content_4_desktop\" class=\"adthrive-ad adthrive-content adthrive-content-4 adthrive-ad-cls\" data-google-query-id=\"\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/18190176,25816858\/AdThrive_Content_4\/5ad7479721520f50ab7da88e_0__container__\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"google-ad-manager-fallback-container\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Getting a player with this kind of pedigree for either the 128th or even the 136th-overall pick is a bargain the Ravens can\u2019t ignore. Not when their primary edge defenders could be looking for new teams a year from now.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Ravens Face Tough Decisions About Edge Players<\/h2>\n<p>Van Noy is coming off his\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/sports\/nfl\/baltimore-ravens\/kyle-van-noy-pro-bowl-snub\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"\">f<\/a>irst ever Pro Bowl season, but he\u2019s also 33 and perhaps playing on his last deal. Meanwhile, Oweh\u2019s case is a little different.<\/p>\n<p>The differences stem from the first-round pick in the 2021 draft only being 26 and just approaching his prime years. Oweh\u2019s upward trajectory was confirmed by a banner campaign in 2024, when he registered double-digit sacks for the first time in his career.<\/p>\n<div id=\"AdThrive_Content_7_desktop\" class=\"adthrive-ad adthrive-content adthrive-content-7\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"AdThrive_Content_5_desktop\" class=\"adthrive-ad adthrive-content adthrive-content-5 adthrive-ad-cls\" data-google-query-id=\"\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/18190176,25816858\/AdThrive_Content_5\/5ad7479721520f50ab7da88e_0__container__\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"google-ad-manager-fallback-container\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Alternatives are in short supply on the roster, unless the\u00a0light suddenly goes on\u00a0for oft-injured second-rounder\u00a0David Ojabo. Perhaps\u00a0Tavius Robinso<a href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/nfl\/player\/tavius-robinson\/\" target=\"\" rel=\"\">n<\/a>\u00a0could play his way into more reps after showcasing potential as a physical mismatch on the edge during his second season.<\/p>\n<p>Relying on Robinson and Ojabo to refresh their pass-rush department can save costs but is still a risk for the Ravens.
