Travis Kelce<\/a>\u00a0isn\u2019t hanging up his jersey just yet.<\/p>\n

The Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end has signed on for another season with the NFL team, choosing not to retire after the team\u2019s\u00a0Super Bowl 2025<\/a>\u00a0loss against the Philadelphia Eagles.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

On the Wednesday, Mar. 5, episode of Travis and his brother\u00a0Jason Kelce<\/a>\u2019s podcast\u00a0New Heights<\/em><\/a>, Travis addressed his decision to stay on the field.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Jason, 37, who\u00a0retired from the Eagles in 2024<\/a>, asked Travis how much the Chiefs\u2019 Super Bowl loss last month factored into his decision.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

\u201cIt was probably the biggest factor,\u201d Travis, 35, admitted, calling the defeat an “all-time low.”<\/p>\n

Jason then asked Travis whether he would have retired had the team won, scoring their history-making three-peat win.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, it’s a pretty cool way to go out, but I think I would still have this love for the game,\u201d Travis shared.<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Though Travis has taken on several projects in his off-season, including acting in\u00a0Ryan Murphy\u2019s\u00a0Grotesquerie<\/em><\/a>\u00a0and in\u00a0Happy Gilmore 2<\/em><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0hosting\u00a0Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?<\/em><\/a>, he says it\u2019s his love of the game that\u2019s brought him back for another season.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe biggest thing is that I f—– love playing the game of football. I love playing,\u201d he shared. \u201cI still think I can play it at a high level, and possibly at a higher level than I did last year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Getting critical about his 2024-2025 season performance, Travis added, \u201cI don\u2019t think it was my best outing. I think I let my guys down in a lot more moments than I helped them, especially if you look at my track record and how I\u2019ve been in years past.”<\/p>\n

“I got a bad taste in my mouth for how I ended the year and how well I was playing and how accountable I was for the people around me,” he continued.<\/p>\n

And when it came to making the decision,\u00a0T<\/a>aylor Swift\u2019s boyfriend says he didn\u2019t overanalyze.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just off a feel. I\u2019m not a big measure the pros and cons [guy],\u201d he explained. \u201cPure gut feeling\u2026 I pulled the trigger as soon as I knew that feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n

Travis broke the news that he was returning for another season through\u00a0a text on\u00a0The Pat McAfee Show<\/em>\u00a0on Feb. 27.
