K<\/a>ansas City Chiefs\u00a0rookie Xavier Worthy has reportedly been arrested following his first season with the team.<\/p>\n

The wide receiver, who was drafted out of Texas as a late first-round pick in 2024, helped Kansas City return to the\u00a0Super Bowl\u00a0and was their most productive pass-catcher against the\u00a0Philadelphia Eagles\u00a0in their 40-22 loss last month.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0online records in Williamson County, Texas, the player was booked for assault following an incident that took place on Friday.<\/p>\n

While the details are not clear, it appears he could have attempted to choke a family or household member, as the charge reads \u201cASSAULT FAM\/HOUSE MEM IMPEDE BREATH\/CIRCULAT.\u201d<\/p>\n

The above sounds disturbing on its own. But there should be additional information coming out as news outlets are looking into the matter.<\/p>\n

This comes as a bit of d\u00e9j\u00e0 vu for the Chiefs, given that it\u2019s the second consecutive offseason in which a promising rookie has been arrested in Texas, with\u00a0Rashee Rice<\/a>\u00a0having found himself in legal hot water for street racing in Dallas last year.<\/p>\n
