Playing tackle and guard, the California product finished the season with a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pff.com\/nfl\/grades\/position\/g\" rel=\"nofollow\">5<\/a>9.0 PFF grade, the 50th-best mark out of 76 eligible guards, but it\u2019s worth noting that grade is artificially deflated due to him playing out of position for part of the season. Mekari\u2019s versatility played a pivotal role in helping the Ravens win the AFC North. However, their dreams of a championship ended when they lost a heartbreaker to the\u00a0Buffalo Bills\u00a0in the divisional round.<\/p>\n<div id=\"FreeStarVideoAdContainer\">\n<div id=\"freestar-video-parent\">\n<div id=\"freestar-video-child\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-24\">\n<div id=\"lwos_incontent_1\" align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __300x250\" data-google-query-id=\"\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Patrick Mekari originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent following the 2019\u00a0NFL Draft. Signing with the Baltimore Ravens, the California product appeared in 11 games while making five starts. Led by second-year quarterback Lamar Jackson, the Ravens finished the season with the best record in the AFC but went one-and-done in the playoffs following an upset defeat against the\u00a0Tennessee Titans.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-55\"><\/div>\n<p>Mekari returned to a reserve role in the COVID-impacted 2020 season. Missing two games thanks to the pandemic, the second-year pro appeared in 14 games while making eight starts. He earned a larger role in 2021, starting in 12 games while making 13 starts. Unfortunately, the Ravens couldn\u2019t make the playoffs following a late-season injury to Lamar Jackson.<\/p>\n<p>Despite his strong play, Mekari returned to a do-everything backup role in 2022 and 2023. Appearing in a combined 33 games while making 11 starts, the undrafted free agent played well when given the opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>Since signing his rookie contract, Patrick Mekari has appeared in 88 games while making 53 starts.
