Kansas City Chiefs president Mark Donovan shut down speculation that Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift\u2019s relationship is manufactured.<\/p>\n

Donovan\u00a0appeared on Wednesday\u2019s episode of CNBC\u2019s \u201cSquawk Box,\u201d\u00a0where he was asked if he \u201cpredicted\u201d the attention Swift has garnered toward the NFL team.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d love to say that it was a marketing strategy, but it is an authentic relationship, and we\u2019re happy to have it, and it\u2019s been nothing but good for us,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Donovan denied that the relationship is a \u201cmarketing strategy.\u201d
\nDonovan agreed that there has been a positive \u201cimpact\u201d on the Chiefs, however, as fans see Swift\u2019s genuine love of the sport.<\/p>\n

\u201cTaylor Swift is an authentic member of the Kansas City Chiefs kingdom,\u201d he said. \u201cShe\u2019s an authentic fan, and that matters to our fans and our fanbase, and it matters to us, and we\u2019ve tried to respect that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Donovan has previously raved about Swift attending various Chiefs games,\u00a0sharing on the \u201cFront Office Sports\u201d podcast\u00a0in September that the singer \u201cwants to be a fan.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is her off time,\u201d he said on the podcast. \u201cShe wants to be there to support Travis. We\u2019re going to create that opportunity where we provide that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Donovan also acknowledged that the Grammy winner has brought a \u201cpretty valuable, targeted demographic\u201d with her new interest in the Chiefs.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not trying to capitalize on this,\u201d he reiterated. \u201cWe\u2019re trying to celebrate it, but it\u2019s not about doing too much or showing her every touchdown or anything like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift, 34, has introduced a new demographic to the sport and even reportedly helped the Chiefs reach a staggering value of $4.85 billion,\u00a0according to Forbes.<\/p>\n

Just a few days after Swift\u00a0attended her first Chiefs game in September 2023, her boyfriend\u2019s jersey\u00a0saw a 400 percent spike in sales\u00a0and quickly skyrocketed to one of the highest selling NFL jerseys.<\/p>\n

Kelce, 35, later\u00a0gave a sweet shoutout to the \u201cCruel Summer\u201d singer\u00a0after sharing the big news on his and brother Jason Kelce\u2019s \u201cNew Heights\u201d podcast in December 2023.<\/p>\n

Swift has attended several of Kelce\u2019s games ever since they made their relationship public last September.<\/p>\n

Most recently, she sported a Versace red and black plaid set while seeing the Chiefs defeat the Denver Broncos on Nov. 10.<\/p>\n
