That\u2019s the view from\u00a0Bradley Locker of Pro Football Focus, who believes Oweh\u2019s \u201ca name to keep an eye on in that group for trade purposes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Locker\u2019s reasoning is based upon a belief that \u201cwhile Oweh has been above average as both a pass rusher and a run defender, his play might not warrant a lucrative extension. The Ravens could face a crossroads with the 26-year-old heading into the draft.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"AdThrive_Content_1_desktop\" class=\"adthrive-ad adthrive-content adthrive-content-1 adthrive-ad-cls\" data-google-query-id=\"\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/18190176,25816858\/AdThrive_Content_1\/5ad7479721520f50ab7da88e_0__container__\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"google-ad-manager-fallback-container\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Dealing Oweh before the draft would represent something of an about turn from the Ravens. They\u00a0picked up his fifth-year option\u00a0last season and watched Oweh\u00a0log double-digit sacks\u00a0in a season for the first time in his career.<\/p>\n<p>There may be a temptation to cash in on a player on the rise, but it would be a risk for the Ravens with Oweh. The risk concerns the age of the team\u2019s primary edge-rusher, along with a lack of plausible other options bookending the front seven.<\/p>\n<div id=\"AdThrive_Content_2_desktop\" class=\"adthrive-ad adthrive-content adthrive-content-2 adthrive-ad-cls\" data-google-query-id=\"\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/18190176,25816858\/AdThrive_Content_2\/5ad7479721520f50ab7da88e_0__container__\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"google-ad-manager-fallback-container\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Ravens Face Tricky Decision About Odafe Oweh<\/h2>\n<p>Oweh\u2019s breakout campaign of sorts in 2024 complicates how the Ravens see his future. He refined his technique as a pass-rusher and played well enough to\u00a0justify praise from an eight-time Pro Bowler.<\/p>\n<p>Endorsement of Oweh\u2019s progress was also provided by 48 total pressures, 24 hurries and 14 quarterback hits,\u00a0per PFF. Oweh deployed a more varied rush plan and became consistently disruptive.<\/p>\n<p>In doing so, the 26-year-old gave himself options. The first is for Oweh to emerge as the focal point of the Ravens\u2019 pressure schemes.<\/p>\n<div id=\"AdThrive_Content_3_desktop\" class=\"adthrive-ad adthrive-content adthrive-content-3 adthrive-ad-cls\" data-google-query-id=\"\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/18190176,25816858\/AdThrive_Content_3\/5ad7479721520f50ab7da88e_0__container__\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"google-ad-manager-fallback-container\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>DeCosta would likely prefer it since he\u2019d get the plaudits for a homegrown player he drafted maturing into a star and playing his prime years in Baltimore. Oweh continuing to step up would also ease the reliance on last season\u2019s\u00a0team sack leader, 33-year-old\u00a0Kyle Van Noy.<\/p>\n<p>The latter\u00a0proved Pro Bowl voters wrong, but there\u2019s no obvious successor to the 11-year pro. Not when the Ravens are still waiting on 2022 second-round pick\u00a0David Ojabo\u00a0to stay healthy and\u00a0get onto the field more often.<\/p>\n<div id=\"AdThrive_Content_4_desktop\" class=\"adthrive-ad adthrive-content adthrive-content-4 adthrive-ad-cls\" data-google-query-id=\"\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/18190176,25816858\/AdThrive_Content_4\/5ad7479721520f50ab7da88e_0__container__\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"google-ad-manager-fallback-container\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Problems like these mean the Ravens might have to pay Oweh a year from now. Provided they have the space under the salary cap.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Time to Look for Draft Contingency<\/h2>\n<p>The Ravens rank 26th in the league for cap space, according to\u00a0Spotrac.com. Projections for\u00a0next year have them 20th.<\/p>\n<p>It stands to reason there won\u2019t be much money at DeCosta\u2019s disposal. \u00a0He\u2019s already\u00a0paying premiums\u00a0to two-time NFL MVP quarterback\u00a0Lamar Jackson\u00a0and his\u00a0All-Pro blindside protector, left tackle\u00a0Ronnie Stanley.<\/p>\n<div id=\"AdThrive_Content_5_desktop\" class=\"adthrive-ad adthrive-content adthrive-content-5 adthrive-ad-cls\" data-google-query-id=\"\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/18190176,25816858\/AdThrive_Content_5\/5ad7479721520f50ab7da88e_0__container__\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"google-ad-manager-fallback-container\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>More expensive payouts are on the horizon, with another All-Pro\u00a0predicted to reset the market. Adding in a big bucks deal for Oweh may be too rich for the Ravens, so DeCosta would be smart to draft a contingency this year.<\/p>\n<p>Prospects like Tennessee\u2019s James Pearce Jr. or Marshall\u2019s Mike Green fit the bill as potential candidates for the 27th-overall selection.
