The NFL Draft is rapidly approaching, and while the focus of the football world is shifting to that event, it should not be forgotten that there are still plenty of very solid players available in free agency.<\/p>\n

One of those players is former Denver Broncos and\u00a0Atlanta Falcons\u00a0safety Justin Simmons. According to\u00a0Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report\u00a0, Simmons will sign with the\u00a0Miami Dolphins\u00a0before the beginning of the season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Simmons, 31, spent the first eight seasons of his career with the Broncos before spending 2024 with the Falcons. He has 32 career interceptions and has collected at least two interceptions in his nine seasons in the NFL.<\/p>\n

He is a two-time Pro Bowler and has put together several solid seasons in his career. His two Pro Bowl appearances came in 2020 and 2023. He has also been a member of the NFL All-Pro Second team four times in his career and three of the last four seasons.<\/p>\n

Moreover, Simmons would be a nice replacement for former Dolphins safety Jevon Holland, who left in free agency and signed with the New York Giants.<\/p>\n

The Dolphins ranked No. 9 in 2024 in\u00a0passing yards allowed per game\u00a0(210.7), so signing a veteran player like Simmons to strengthen the secondary could certainly be a good choice.<\/p>\n

Not only could he place the replacement for Holland, but he could also be a mentor to a lot of the younger players in the Miami secondary.
