Novak Djokovic shut down concerns about his eye problem and a possible new injury after his loss to world No 32 Alejandro Tabilo at the 2025 Monte Carlo Masters.<\/p>\n
The 37-year-old Serbian broke Tabilo in the opening game of the second round contest, but was badly out of sorts thereafter as he slumped to a 3-6, 4-6 defeat.<\/p>\n
The 24-time major winner was broken three times by the 27-year-old Chilean, while he struck 29 unforced errors in a match that lasted less than 90 minutes.<\/p>\n
Djokovic\u00a0was playing his first match of the 2025 clay-court season, having been a runner-up in Miami at the end of March at his previous event.<\/p>\n

Q. It wasn\u2019t the best day in the office for you today\u2026<\/p>\n
DJOKOVIC: Best day (laughs)?<\/p>\n
Q. Not the best day\u2026<\/p>\n
DJOKOVIC: It was actually more like the worst day. Look, I was hoping this is not going to happen, but it was quite a high probability I\u2019m going to play this way. I don\u2019t know, just horrible. Horrible feeling to play this way and I\u2019m just sorry for all the people that have to witness this.\u201d<\/p>\n
Q. You have at least one explanation?<\/p>\n
DJOKOVIC: I don\u2019t know. I don\u2019t have it. I have it and I don\u2019t have it. I don\u2019t really care.<\/p>\n

DJOKOVIC: No, it\u2019s all good. It\u2019s all good. Just a minor, minor thing.<\/p>\n

DJOKOVIC: There\u2019s no injury.<\/p>\n
Q. Tough one, I imagine. What\u2019s your goal for this season on clay?<\/p>\n
DJOKOVIC: Roland Garros.<\/p>\n

DJOKOVIC: That\u2019s it (smiling).<\/p>\n
Q. I understand your mood, but the other day you said you didn\u2019t have expectation, and I was surprised, because you should have always expectations.<\/p>\n
DJOKOVIC: Well, I expected myself at least to have put a decent performance. Not like this, I mean this is horrible. I did not have high expectations, really.
