Dallas Cowboys\u00a0quarterback\u00a0Dak Prescott is no stranger to having his contract situation be headline news. His past two have been the subject of daily discussion\u2014sometimes at nauseam.<\/p>\n

But things got done, even though many thought they took far longer than they needed to; however, Dak maintained his professional demeanor and made sure he was being the best possible leader for the franchise he could be.<\/p>\n

That is something that\u00a0Micah Parsons\u00a0is currently dealing with, as the “Lion” wants to be seen as a leader of the franchise, plus his contract situation, like Dak’s was, is daily headline news.<\/p>\n

Speaking at a Children\u2019s Cancer Fund event in Dallas, Prescott offered Micah some advice on being a leader and his contract situation.<\/p>\n

“Me and Micah have talked in the locker room,” Prescott said. “But very confident in that guy and what he can do, who he is and what he wants to is as important as anything, and that’s in being a leader. The contract, I don’t have the full answer for it, I thought all of mine would have been done a lot earlier than what they were.<\/p>\n

“So just stay positive, understand that his team knows what he wants and what he believes.”<\/p>\n

With a “new wave” of leaders now ushered through The Star’s doors, Parsons is looking to be the key figurehead, especially defensively, in 2025 and beyond.<\/p>\n

In what will be a true test of Parsons’ leadership qualities, is if a contract isn’t done by the time OTA’s begin, will he be in attendance? Considering a new scheme will have to be learned under Matt Eberflus.<\/p>\n

That is the big question, and perhaps a $40 million one.<\/p>\n

Micah wants a new contract, but owner Jerry Jones stated at the annual league meeting that the pending new deal comes with certain non-negotiables and that Parsons will have to be the player he wants to be paid like.<\/p>\n

And there’s no better person\/player to follow the lead of than Dak, who seems confident Micah will take everything in his stride as one of the new leaders of the Cowboys.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
