The\u00a0Buffalo Bills\u00a0added a familiar face and additional depth to their cornerback room ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter reported on Thursday that the Bills agreed to a one-year contract with cornerback Tre\u2019Davious White. The deal is reportedly worth up to $6.8 million.<\/p>\n

White, 30, returns to Buffalo after one year away from the team. The Bills released White in March of 2024. He signed with the Los Angeles Rams almost two weeks after his release, but would not spend the entire season with the Rams. Los Angeles would trade White and a 2027 seventh-round pick to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a 2026 seventh-round pick. Between his stops in Los Angeles and Baltimore, White would appear in 11 games (4 starts). He recorded 22 total tackles and five passes defensed.<\/p>\n

White was Sean McDermott\u2019s first draft pick after joining the team as head coach in 2017. The cornerback quickly emerged as a fan favorite for his playful attitude off the field and his strong play on the field. During his first stint in Buffalo, White was named an All-Pro twice (2019-2020). He was also named to the Pro Bowl during that time. White\u2019s best season came in 2019 when he was the NFL\u2019s co-leader in interceptions.<\/p>\n

While White had a long period of outstanding play in Buffalo, injuries took their toll on the cornerback. White tore his ACL in a 2021 Thanksgiving Day win over the New Orleans Saints. He returned 52 weeks after the injury but struggled in his return to the field. White would tear his Achilles tendon in 2023 and miss the final 13 games of the season.<\/p>\n

White will have a chance to prove that he has something left in the tank in his return to Buffalo, but his signing should not prevent the team from drafting a cornerback early in next week\u2019s draft.<\/p>\n
