But, he is a free agent and\u00a0Joel Reuter of Bleach Report\u00a0predicts he will leave the Bronx and sign with the\u00a0Toronto Blue Jays.<\/p>\n<p>Reuter has Torres being Toronto\u2019s starting second baseman and batting second. His predicted 2025 lineup also includes additions of Nolan Arenado and Michael Conforto.<\/p>\n<div id=\"AdThrive_Content_1_desktop\" class=\"adthrive-ad adthrive-content adthrive-content-1 adthrive-ad-cls\" data-google-query-id=\"\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/18190176,25816858\/AdThrive_Content_1\/5ad7479721520f50ab7da88e_0__container__\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"google-ad-manager-fallback-container\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"intersectionObserverRefElement\">\n<p class=\"\"><b>Projected Starting Lineup<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"intersectionObserverRefElement\">\n<p class=\"\">RF George Springer<br \/>\n<b>2B Gleyber Torres<\/b><br \/>\n1B Vladimir Guerrero Jr.<br \/>\n<b>3B Nolan Arenado<\/b><br \/>\n<b>LF Michael Conforto<\/b><br \/>\nSS Bo Bichette<br \/>\nCF Daulton Varsho<br \/>\nDH Spencer Horwitz<br \/>\nC Alejandro Kirk<br \/>\nSP Kevin Gausman<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Blue Jays sold at the trade deadline, but they stopped short of moving any key controllable pieces, and all signs point to them approaching the offseason as buyers,\u201d Reuter wrote. \u201cAfter making a legitimate push to sign Shohei Ohtani last winter, the organization is clearly willing to spend in the right situation, and the above additions would make this a bona fide contender.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Blue Jays do have a need at second base and Torres certainly makes sense. The 27-year-old is a two-time All-Star and last season, he\u00a0hit .257 with 15 home runs and 63 RBIs.<\/p>\n<h2>What is Torres Expected to Get in Free Agency?<\/h2>\n<p>Torres\u00a0is likely to take a short-term deal\u00a0in free agency to try and rebuild his value.<\/p>\n<p>MLBTradeRumors predicts Torres will sign a two-year $36 million deal in free agency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a wide range of outcomes with his free agency,\u201d the article\u00a0read. \u201cTorres has youth on his side, as he\u2019ll play all of next season at 28. He\u2019s the best pure second baseman available, and he doesn\u2019t come with a qualifying offer attached. A three-year contract isn\u2019t unreasonable, and there\u2019s an outside chance he could still nab a four-year deal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the same time, he\u2019s hitting the market coming off a platform year that wasn\u2019t especially impressive in aggregate. Torres could look for a one-year or a two-year contract that allows him to opt out and try again at age 29. We\u2019re predicting he\u2019ll sacrifice a bit on the overall guarantee to secure that market flexibility.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Torres would look to re-enter the free agent market once again before the age of 30.<\/p>\n<h2>Yankees GM Thanks Torres For Contributions<\/h2>\n<p>Although Torres is still a free agent, the Yankees have appeared to move on from him.<\/p>\n<p>During the GM meetings, Yankees\u2019 general manager Brian Cashman thanked Torres for his contributions to the team over the years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not sure what we\u2019re going to do just yet, but I want to thank Gleyber for the time why he was here without closing any doors on a reunion happening,\u201d Cashman\u00a0said.<\/p>\n<p>Cashman also says the Yankees are evaluating their options at second base, which could include Torres returning.<\/p>\n<p id=\"CBHW6GJWYVFNJOHGSLPE6JZKPU\" class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">\u201cGleyber is a free agent, so there\u2019s a vacancy currently,\u201d Cashman said. \u201cSo what are our internal options? If you don\u2019t re-sign Gleyber, do you move Jazz, who was learning third base on the run in the second half last year? Do you look at Caleb Durbin? Are there external candidates that you run into that you can import as a free agent that might not be Gleyber? Maybe you bring Gleyber back. Is there a trade candidate? Our job is to evaluate all of it and then how it settles in with the rest of the roster.
