Aaron Rodgers\u00a0was on ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show” last week and discussed the fact he was in no hurry to make a decision on his football career.<\/p>\n

Pittsburgh Steelers\u00a0head coach Mike Tomlin is apparently fine with that.<\/p>\n

Gerry Dulac, who covers the Steelers for the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, wrote on the subject after speaking with Tomlin and members of the Steelers front office.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnything Aaron Rodgers said is not anything different than the Steelers have known all along,” Dulac wrote. Their offer hasn\u2019t changed. It\u2019s been on the table. It\u2019s a one-year deal. I can\u2019t tell you exactly what the number is, but it\u2019s not anything that\u2019s gonna blow somebody away.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tomlin apparently indicated he was unfazed by what some think is a negative circumstance.<\/p>\n

Asked if the situation with Rodgers has any effect on what the Steelers intend to do in the draft, Tomlin said,\u00a0\u201cIt does not.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Rodgers visited with the Steelers, he said he had no timetable for his decision. The Steelers are opting to live with that, but will also move forward for the future.<\/p>\n

The Steelers are projected to pick a\u00a0quarterback\u00a0Thursday night, according to draft experts, with their No. 21 selection in the first round. They are said to like Colorado’s\u00a0Shedeur Sanders\u00a0and\u00a0Ole Miss’\u00a0Jaxson Dart. Jalen Milroe from Alabama is also being considered.<\/p>\n

Steelers general manager Omar Khan said through Dulac that the Steelers intend to go to training camp with four quarterbacks on the roster, which is two more than they already employ, while waiting for a decision from Rodgers, a four-time\u00a0NFL\u00a0MVP.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
