A top\u00a0NFL Draft\u00a0target has a message for every GM … and has enjoyed a meeting with the most high-profile one.<\/p>\n

Ashton Jeanty is talking about his meeting with\u00a0Dallas Cowboys\u00a0owner Jerry Jones, according to a post on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did meet Jerry Jones,\u201d Jeanty said to Kay Adams. \u201cIt went well. We were just choppin\u2019 it up, talking football, and talking about the\u00a0Super Bowl. \u201cI came into the room and he was holding this championship belt and just looking at it. And I was like, \u2018Where\u2019s this gonna go?\u2019 It was from some boxing championship they had at the stadium some years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jeanty, who comes from Frisco, Texas and attended Lone Star High School, wants to be a Cowboy. He thinks it would be great to be able to come home again.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt would be great,\u201d Jeanty said. \u201cIt would be a special opportunity. Really to play for any team in the\u00a0NFL\u00a0would be great. But just the fact I grew up here, it would be just a little different.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jeanty is the\u00a0top running back\u00a0in the draft. He is not projected to be on the board when the\u00a0Cowboys\u00a0pick at No. 12. Jeanty has been mocked by experts to be sixth pick to the\u00a0Las Vegas Raiders.<\/p>\n

And beyond the Dallas dream, what does Jeanty want? He wants to be seen as the guy who who turn around a franchise.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0his “Letter to NFL GM’s” he writes\u00a0…<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you pick me, it\u2019s simple: I\u2019m coming to do what Saquon and\u00a0the Eagles\u00a0just did. I\u2019m coming to win, big, soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile …<\/p>\n

Dane Brugler of The Athletic heaped praise on Jeanty and said he has a lot of good traits.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith his low center of gravity and explosiveness, Jeanty has an uncanny ability to stay afloat through contact and be elusive in space,\u201d Brugler wrote. \u201cHe trusts his vision when following his blocks. But instead of predetermining his path, he displays outstanding reactionary reads to sort, cut, and create. Overall, Jeanty displays exceptional contact balance, run instincts, and versatility in the passing game, reminiscent of LaDainian Tomlinson. He has the talent to emerge as a high-level running back early in his NFL career.\u201d<\/p>\n

If the Cowboys want Jeanty, they are going to have to trade up for him. He will not be on the board when Dallas picks. He also projects as\u00a0a Pro Bowl talent, according to NFL.com.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s the ultimate yardage creator,\u201d Lance Zierlein wrote. \u201c(He has) the talent and skill set to succeed independent of the quality of his blocking. Jeanty\u2019s speed forces linebackers to flow hard outside, creating cutback lanes and chunk runs. His vision, balance and elusiveness get it done along the interior.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jerry and the Cowboys agree with all of this.<\/p>\n
