But Steelers safety\u00a0Minkah Fitzpatrick\u00a0is also still dealing with fallout from the team\u2019s previous rival matchup against the\u00a0Baltimore Ravens\u00a0in Week 11.<\/p>\n<p>The NFL fined\u00a0Fitzpatrick $11,255 for his late hit on offensive lineman\u00a0Patrick Mekari\u00a0during the first half versus Baltimore.<\/p>\n<p>Fitzpatrick delivered the hit after Ravens tight end\u00a0Isaiah Likely\u00a0fumbled late in the second quarter. The Steelers safety, along with Mekari,\u00a0received offsetting unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.<\/p>\n<p>But Mekari didn\u2019t receive a fine.<\/p>\n<p>This was Fitzpatrick\u2019s first fine of the 2024 season.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Minkah Fitzpatrick Fined, Still Looking for 1st INT<\/h2>\n<p>Fitzpatrick has received\u00a0quite a bit of anger from Browns fans\u00a0since his 2023 Week 2 hit knocked out running back\u00a0Nick Chubb\u00a0for the rest of the season. But it was the Ravens, not the Browns, who Fitzpatrick engaged with during the third week of November.<\/p>\n<p>The Fitzpatrick-Mekari scrap was one of several from the Steelers-Ravens matchup in Week 11.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAn aggressive moment from the normally quiet Fitzpatrick, but it fit with how the game went,\u201d\u00a0Steelers Depot\u2019s Alex Kozora wrote. \u201cThe first half of Sunday\u2019s showdown felt like classic Steelers-Ravens. Intense and physical and pushing the boundary of what the refs were permitting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPittsburgh\u2019s offensive line set the tone with C Zach Frazier, RG Mason McCormick and a more-aggressive RT Broderick Jones scrapping with any Ravens\u2019 defenders they could get their hands on. CB Marlon Humphrey was the main combatant. They all avoided fine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven K Chris Boswell briefly entered the ring with some brief jawing after making a first half field goal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Although it cost him a little cash, it could be considered a small price to pay for Fitzpatrick setting a physical tone for the Steelers defense.<\/p>\n<p>Kozora noted, though, that Fitzpatrick now has more fines than interceptions this season.\u00a0Fitzpatrick doesn\u2019t have an interception in his last 22 games.<\/p>\n<p>He was tied\u00a0for the NFL lead with 6 interceptions during the 2022 season.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Ravens Safety Kyle Hamilton Also Receives Fine<\/h2>\n<p>Fitzpatrick wasn\u2019t the only safety to receive a fine from the Week 11 Steelers-Ravens showdown. The NFL also fined Baltimore safety\u00a0Kyle Hamilton\u00a0$11,255 for taunting in the second quarter.<\/p>\n<p>The taunt appeared to come against Steelers running back\u00a0Najee Harris. Hamilton had just caught a hurdle attempt from Harris before a small skirmish started.<\/p>\n<p>Hamilton didn\u2019t receive a penalty on the play.<\/p>\n<p>Fines could be a routine thing for the Steelers during the stretch run of the 2024 NFL season.\u00a0The Steelers still have\u00a0four more division matchups remaining on their schedule. Those AFC North matchups are always filled with hatred and physicality.<\/p>\n<p>Pittsburgh will also play Super Bowl contenders, the\u00a0Philadelphia Eagles\u00a0and\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs.<\/p>\n<p>The Steelers and Ravens will renew their rivalry on December 21.\u00a0Kickoff is scheduled\u00a0for 4:30 pm ET at M&amp;T Bank Stadium.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GettyPittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick received a fine for a late hit against the Baltimore Ravens during Week 11.
