Without a doubt,\u00a0Aaron Rodgers\u00a0is the biggest name remaining on the NFL\u2019s free agent market. To be honest, he was always the biggest name on that list. Four league MVP Awards and a Pro Football Hall of Fame career is more than enough to make one the biggest name on just about any list.<\/p>\n
But despite his career accomplishments, Rodgers found that he did not have a very strong market. The\u00a0New York Jets, of course, did not want him and released him with a post-June 1 designation. The\u00a0New York Giants, tired of waiting, signed\u00a0Jameis Winston\u00a0and\u00a0<\/em>Russell Wilson\u00a0to lead their quarterback room.<\/p>\n In perhaps the most embarrassing development, Rodgers reached out to the\u00a0Minnesota Vikings, offering to be a bridge quarterback for them for a year and help mentor\/develop\u00a0JJ McCarthy.<\/p>\n They turned him down.<\/p>\n Despite the fact that there were\/are other teams in need of a quality starting quarterback in 2025, Rodgers has garnered interest from only team: the\u00a0Pittsburgh Steelers.<\/p>\n However, has not signed a contract with them. Yet.<\/p>\n By his own admission, Rodgers is focusing on some other heavy things going on in his personal life. However, he did meet with the Steelers at their facility, and he did have a private throwing session with DK Metcalf, the two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Pittsburgh acquired via trade earlier this offseason.<\/p>\n Indeed, all signs point to the future Hall of Famer donning the black and yellow this season. But as offseason programs have begun, fans have become even more impatient than they were before.<\/p>\n In a recent radio appearance on\u00a097.3 The Fan,\u00a0The Athletic<\/em>\u2018s Mike DeFabo said of the situation: \u201cThe fact that Art Rooney said what he said, the Steelers did not draft a quarterback in the third round, they didn\u2019t trade George Pickens, all these signs would lead you to believe that they\u2019re going to get Aaron Rodgers.\u201d<\/p>\n The 41-year-old quarterback, of course, needs to sign first before any celebrating can occur.
