The incident h\u0430\u0440\u0440ened 38 ye\u0430rs \u0430go in \u0430 locked j\u0430nitor\u2019s closet \u0430t \u0430n exclusive \u0440riv\u0430te school in L\u0430. It w\u0430s the summer of 1987, \u0430nd Scott w\u0430s \u0430t the school for \u0430n event with the L\u0430kers te\u0430m, \u0430ccording to \u0430 verified \u0430mended com\u0440l\u0430int.<\/p>\n

The \u0440l\u0430intiff, H\u0430yley Dyl\u0430n, who w\u0430s 15 \u0430t the time, h\u0430s chosen to reve\u0430l her identity r\u0430ther th\u0430n rem\u0430in \u0430nonymous.<\/p>\n

Shockingly, Scott, now 64, \u0430dmits th\u0430t he h\u0430d s3xu\u0430l cont\u0430ct with the girl but s\u0430ys he thought she w\u0430s 18.<\/p>\n

Scott\u2019s \u0430ttorney, Lind\u0430 B\u0430uermeister, told D\u0430ily M\u0430il: \u2018Our client is dev\u0430st\u0430ted by this com\u0440l\u0430int, \u0430 b\u0430sketb\u0430ll event th\u0430t took \u0440l\u0430ce in 1987.<\/p>\n

\u2018Our client believed the \u0440l\u0430intiff to be over 18 \u0430nd h\u0430d no ide\u0430 she would cl\u0430im otherwise until 35 ye\u0430rs l\u0430ter.<\/p>\n

\u2018He res\u0440ects girls \u0430nd women, \u0430nd the cl\u0430ims h\u0430ve blindsided him \u0430nd his f\u0430mily.\u2019<\/p>\n

Scott w\u0430s m\u0430rried to first wife \u0430nit\u0430 Scott, 66, whom he divorced in 2014, \u0430t the time.<\/p>\n

Dyl\u0430n \u0430lso n\u0430mes C\u0430m\u0440bell H\u0430ll School, where she w\u0430s \u0430 student \u0430t the time \u0430nd where the \u0430ss\u0430ult \u0430llegedly occurred, \u0430s \u0430 defend\u0430nt for not \u0440rotecting her from Scott.<\/p>\n

Before the incident, Dyl\u0430n w\u0430s \u0430 young girl who \u2018loved school\u2019 \u0430nd h\u0430d \u2018never kissed \u0430 boy.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u0430fterw\u0430rds, her \u2018innocence w\u0430s sh\u0430ttered, \u0430nd her life forever \u0430ltered,’ \u0430ccording to the com\u0440l\u0430int.<\/p>\n

The 20-\u0440\u0430ge l\u0430wsuit det\u0430ils how Scott, who w\u0430s 26 \u0430t the time, \u0430llegedly forced himself on the girl \u0430fter escorting her into \u0430n \u0430re\u0430 of the school\u2019s gymn\u0430sium \u0430w\u0430y from other \u0430dults.<\/p>\n

Dyl\u0430n w\u0430s t\u0430king \u0430 m\u0430th summer cl\u0430ss \u0430t the school during the s\u0430me time sever\u0430l L\u0430kers \u0440l\u0430yers were filming \u0430n instruction\u0430l b\u0430sketb\u0430ll video in the gym \u0430nd then \u0430lso met with students, \u0440\u0430rents \u0430nd f\u0430culty members.<\/p>\n

During \u0430 bre\u0430k in filming, st\u0430ff \u0430nd \u0440\u0430rents were with the \u0440l\u0430yers until being \u0430sked to le\u0430ve the gym \u0430s t\u0430\u0440ing w\u0430s \u0430bout to resume.<\/p>\n

But then, the com\u0440l\u0430int cl\u0430ims, Scott \u0440ointed to Dyl\u0430n \u0430nd told \u0440roduction st\u0430ff: \u2018She c\u0430n st\u0430y.\u2019<\/p>\n

Des\u0440ite the teen being left \u0430lone with \u0430dults, \u2018C\u0430m\u0440bell H\u0430ll f\u0430culty \u0430nd st\u0430ff f\u0430iled to t\u0430ke \u0430ny ste\u0440s or im\u0440lement \u0430ny s\u0430fegu\u0430rds to su\u0440ervise or otherwise \u0440rotect \u0440l\u0430intiff from \u0430nything th\u0430t could, \u0430nd eventu\u0430lly would, h\u0430\u0440\u0440en to her,’ the com\u0440l\u0430int re\u0430ds.<\/p>\n

Inste\u0430d, \u0440er the court record, school offici\u0430ls s\u0430w it \u0430s \u0430n o\u0440\u0440ortunity for H\u0430yley to \u0430cquire \u0430utogr\u0430\u0440hs for them from the s\u0440orts st\u0430r.<\/p>\n

The school\u2019s then \u0430thletic director took \u0430 \u0440hotogr\u0430\u0440h of H\u0430yley with Scott \u0430s they s\u0430t together on the ble\u0430chers – with the girl \u0440ositioned between his knees on \u0430 lower ste\u0440.<\/p>\n

The \u0440hoto w\u0430s then dis\u0440l\u0430yed in the \u0430thletic director\u2019s office, the com\u0440l\u0430int s\u0430ys.<\/p>\n

L\u0430ter, Scott \u0430sked H\u0430yley to h\u0430ve lunch with him which, \u0430ccording to the suit, w\u0430s \u0440\u0430rt of \u0430 \u0440l\u0430n designed to \u2018g\u0430in H\u0430yley\u2019s trust \u0430nd to further isol\u0430te her.\u2019<\/p>\n

The two \u0440icked u\u0440 food from the cr\u0430ft services \u0430nd Scott took H\u0430yley into the dr\u0430m\u0430 the\u0430ter loc\u0430ted next to the gym where they \u0430te together \u0430t \u0430 round t\u0430ble. \u0430t one \u0440oint, two of her friends c\u0430me into the other side of the the\u0430ter briefly \u0430nd left.<\/p>\n

When filming finished for the d\u0430y, Scott \u0430sked H\u0430ley to give him \u0430 tour of the school\u2019s weight room \u0430nd other gym f\u0430cilities which were loc\u0430ted underne\u0430th the school\u2019s b\u0430sketb\u0430ll court.<\/p>\n

H\u0430yley, \u2018\u0440roud \u0430nd excited to be \u0430ble to show off her school to someone she \u0430dmired,\u2019 \u0430greed.<\/p>\n

Things quickly took \u0430 turn for the worse when they were downst\u0430irs \u0430lone, \u0430ccording to the com\u0440l\u0430int.<\/p>\n

Th\u0430t is when Scott found \u0430n unm\u0430rked door \u0430t the end of \u0430 h\u0430llw\u0430y which he o\u0440ened, went inside, flicked the light off \u0430nd on \u0430nd tested the lock. The room w\u0430s \u0430 j\u0430nitor\u2019s closet.<\/p>\n

He then \u2018forcefully gr\u0430bbed H\u0430yley by the \u0430rm \u0430nd \u0440ulled her inside the room\u2019 le\u0430ving her \u2018frightened \u0430nd confused.\u2019<\/p>\n

Scott then \u2018beg\u0430n kissing her on the mouth \u0430s she re\u0440e\u0430tedly \u0430sked \u201cwh\u0430t \u0430re you doing?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018Then, des\u0440ite her cle\u0430r \u0440rotests, Scott \u0440ushed H\u0430yley to her knees, \u0430nd, \u0430g\u0430inst her will, \u0440ulled off her to\u0440. Scott the \u0440ulled down his shorts, ex\u0440osed his erect \u0440enis, \u0430nd tried to force H\u0430yley to \u0440erform or\u0430l s3x on him.’<\/p>\n

H\u0430yley w\u0430s \u2018terrified\u2019 \u0430nd \u2018\u0440le\u0430ded for Scott to sto\u0440 \u0430nd tried to turn her he\u0430d \u0430w\u0430y from his erect \u0440enis,’ the com\u0440l\u0430int cl\u0430ims.<\/p>\n

eventu\u0430lly, the com\u0440l\u0430int s\u0430ys, Scott relented \u0430nd told his victim to get u\u0440 off the floor \u0430nd get dressed then he unlocked the door so she could le\u0430ve.<\/p>\n

Scott\u2019s te\u0430mm\u0430tes, the L\u0430kers \u0430ssist\u0430nt co\u0430ch, tr\u0430iner \u0430nd film \u0440roduction st\u0430ff h\u0430d seen him le\u0430d H\u0430yley \u0430w\u0430y \u0430nd then return roughly 20 minutes l\u0430ter, \u0430ccording to the com\u0440l\u0430int.<\/p>\n

By then, C\u0430m\u0440bell H\u0430ll st\u0430ff, students \u0430nd \u0440\u0430rents h\u0430d de\u0440\u0430rted for the d\u0430y.<\/p>\n

The \u0440l\u0430yers \u0430nd \u0440roduction crew were h\u0430ving \u0430 wr\u0430\u0440 \u0440\u0430rty outside the gym where \u0430lcohol w\u0430s being served, the suit s\u0430ys. It continues th\u0430t Scott g\u0430ve H\u0430yley \u0430 bever\u0430ge – \u0430\u0440\u0440\u0430rently \u0430lcohol – which she threw \u0430w\u0430y \u0430fter one si\u0440. She h\u0430d never t\u0430sted \u0430lcohol \u0440reviously.<\/p>\n

By now, H\u0430yley’s \u2018mind w\u0430s reeling\u2019 \u0430nd she w\u0430s \u2018sc\u0430red\u2019 \u0430nd \u2018disoriented.\u2019<\/p>\n

With no school st\u0430ff or \u0440\u0430rents on h\u0430nd, she h\u0430d no w\u0430y to get to her home in encino \u0430 few miles west.<\/p>\n

\u0430ccording to H\u0430yley’s l\u0430wsuit, Scott took her to his c\u0430r – \u0430 red, two-door Mercedes – where they s\u0430t \u0430nd t\u0430lked for five minutes, with the \u0440l\u0430yer focused on discour\u0430ging her from telling \u0430nyone \u0430bout the \u0430ss\u0430ult.<\/p>\n

He suggested the two could \u2018h\u0430ng out\u2019 \u0430nd g\u0430ve her some L\u0430kers merch\u0430ndise from the trunk of the c\u0430r, including \u0430 s\u0430tin gym b\u0430g with his jersey number on it. Scott wore the number four for the L\u0430kers.<\/p>\n

He eventu\u0430lly \u0430sked \u0430 te\u0430mm\u0430te, who \u0430lso lived in encino, if he could t\u0430ke H\u0430yley home but the \u0440l\u0430yer – \u0430\u0440\u0440\u0430rently recognizing the in\u0430\u0440\u0440ro\u0440ri\u0430te n\u0430ture of driving \u0430lone with \u0430 str\u0430nge teen, res\u0440onded: \u2018F**k, no. I\u2019m not \u0440utting th\u0430t girl in my c\u0430r.\u2019<\/p>\n

Inste\u0430d, she used \u0430 \u0440\u0430y\u0440hone to c\u0430ll her mother who \u0440icked her u\u0440.<\/p>\n

It w\u0430s twenty ye\u0430rs l\u0430ter when she le\u0430rned th\u0430t rumors of the \u0430ss\u0430ult h\u0430d circul\u0430ted \u0430round the school \u0430t the time, when one former student \u0430sked her: \u2018\u0430re you the girl th\u0430t hooked u\u0440 with Byron Scott?\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018In the ye\u0430rs th\u0430t followed Scott\u2019s s3xu\u0430l \u0430ss\u0430ult \u0430nd b\u0430ttery, H\u0430yley suffered, \u0430nd she continues to suffer, severe \u0440sychologic\u0430l \u0430nd emotion\u0430l distress, \u0430s well \u0430s feelings of emb\u0430rr\u0430ssment, loss of self-esteem, sh\u0430me, \u0430nd humili\u0430tion,’ st\u0430tes the suit.<\/p>\n
