NEW YORK, NEW YORK:\u00a0Taylor Swift\u00a0and\u00a0Travis Kelce\u00a0may be one of pop culture\u2019s most-watched duos, but the Met Gala 2025 wasn\u2019t on their calendar this year.<\/p>\n

Despite being invited to the star-studded event held on Monday, May 5, at New York\u2019s Metropolitan Museum of Art, the pair opted out due to conflicting professional commitments, according to\u00a0TMZ\u00a0sources.<\/p>\n

Swift has been largely out of the public eye in recent weeks, reportedly enjoying some downtime after wrapping up her record-breaking Eras Tour in December.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Kelce has remained busy, and was recently spotted in New York City for a photoshoot before jetting off for a boys\u2019 getaway to Las Vegas with pals\u00a0Patrick Mahomes<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Justin Timberlake<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to sources close to the pair, their decision wasn’t a last-minute change but rather a conscious effort to step back from the constant public scrutiny.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey have been traveling nonstop and very much enjoy it,\u201d a source told People.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are making the most of their time off together. They\u2019re hanging out with friends too. It\u2019s a special time for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

The couple\u2019s retreat from the limelight seems to reflect previous reports suggesting they\u2019re working to protect their relationship from overexposure, reports\u00a0Evrim Agac\u0131.<\/a><\/p>\n

An insider told Us Weekly in April that Swift and Kelce had made a joint decision to be more low-key. \u201cThey\u2019ve learned that so much attention on their relationship is not the best thing,\u201d the source said.<\/p>\n
