The 2025-26 season brings new beginnings for\u00a0George Pickens<\/strong>. After three seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, he will now be part of the most valuable sports franchise in the world. The shift comes with its set of expectations. Since Pickens has one more year left in his rookie contract, he will soon be eligible for a sizeable extension.<\/p>\n

The wide receiver has been a confident young man, seldom hesitating to speak his mind. Which is why it was a possibility that as soon as Pickens made it to Dallas, he might leverage\u00a0Jerry Jones<\/strong>\u00a0into offering him a big contract. Fortunately,\u00a0G<\/a>eorge Pickens\u00a0has other things on his mind.<\/p>\n

The wide receiver is not interested in contract talks, as per Clarence Hill of\u00a0All City DLLS.\u00a0<\/em>His priority? Show up, and show out. Pickens wants to earn his spot on the Cowboys roster and showcase that he can become a key part of their offense before talking money.<\/p>\n

That is a great attitude. As per Hill, Pickens\u2019 primary focus is\u00a0\u201cto show he\u2019s a top guy this year\u201d\u00a0<\/em>who can have an immediate impact on the offense. His arrival is a breather for CeeDee Lamb, who will now get to be paired alongside a reliable receiver. God forbid if Lamb sits out for a few games due to injuries during the season, Pickens will get the opportunity to increase his output and show that he can step up when the team needs him to.<\/p>\n

However, on-field performance alone will not suffice. The receiver has a chance to\u00a0rectify his notorious antics, such as getting into fights, calling out his team and coaches in front of the media, and gaining a negative rap along with\u00a0hefty penalties. It is a great time to be a wideout in the NFL, with players being rewarded handsomely. All Pickens needs to do is live up to his potential for this season.<\/p>\n

George Pickens stands to earn $100+ million at the end of this year<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Assuming Pickens stands on business and performs well, he could seek a contract similar to Tee Higgins. So far, through three seasons, the receiver has recorded 1,000+ yards receiving on one occasion. If he can recreate the magic this year, then it would be fair to predict that the Cowboys will offer him a deal between $100 million to $115 million over four years.<\/p>\n

The Pittsburgh Steelers have\u00a0made a questionable decision\u00a0by trading away their top receiver. It has been an eventful off-season for the team as it parted ways with their top quarterbacks, Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, and reliable running back Najee Harris, and now, Pickens.<\/p>\n

Pittsburgh added DK Metcalf. His four-year, $132 million deal makes him the top receiver option, and as for the quarterback, the team remains optimistic that Aaron Rodgers will join them shortly. The offense has undergone a major overhaul. It will be interesting to see the direction in which Mike Tomlin takes this team.<\/p>\n
