The\u00a0B<\/a>altimore Ravens\u00a0signed veteran and former All-Pro receiver DeAndre Hopkins back at the beginning of March.<\/p>\n

But some do not like this move as much as the Ravens seem to.<\/p>\n

In a recent article by\u00a0Yardbarker’s Seth Trachtman, he outlines one offseason move for every\u00a0NFL\u00a0team that he thinks could end up being a mistake. For the reigning AFC North champions, he thinks them signing the\u00a032-year-old wideout is a bit of a “head-scratcher”.<\/p>\n

“There’s something to be said for veteran leadership, but it’s unclear if Hopkins makes the Ravens better on the field,” Trachtman writes. “The likely future Hall of Famer clearly lost a step last season with the Titans and Chiefs… and could be in for continued decline as he approaches his mid-30s.”<\/p>\n

The Ravens have a young receiver duo in Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman, so they brought in Hopkins to be a veteran presence. But he does not pose the same threat that he used to on the outside.<\/p>\n

He finished the 2024 season with 610 yards and five touchdowns with the\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs\u00a0and the\u00a0Tennessee Titans. While he only started in eight games, he did make an appearance in 16.<\/p>\n

There is no doubt that D-Hop is not the wide receiver he once was who could go up over a defender and catch a ball with one hand. But that does not mean he cannot make his impact felt and help the Ravens contend with the likes of the Chiefs and the Bills for the AFC title.<\/p>\n
