If the Steelers go into the regular season with their current QB room, then Mason Rudolph is likely the starter over Skylar Thompson.<\/p>\n

And Rudolph says he’s impressed with new wideout addition, DK Metcalf.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s an unbelievable athlete,\u201d Rudolph said. \u201cWe all kind of knew that just from watching the tape and watching him from across the league. But I thought just his wanting to learn and his questions \u2014 he\u2019s inquisitive and he\u2019s very intelligent, very articulate. I thought that was big time. And he just seems like a guy [who\u2019s] a low-ego guy. He\u2019s been paid a lot, he\u2019s been very successful, but he\u2019s very hungry to improve.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pittsburgh moved on from George Pickens, who’s now a Dallas Cowboy, after trading for Metcalf in a deal with the\u00a0Seattle Seahawks. Last season with his former team, Metcalf notched 66 receptions for 992 yards and five touchdowns across 15 games.<\/p>\n

The Steelers are trading that for Pickens’ 59 catches for 900 yards and three touchdowns. Seems like an even swap, but Metcalf isn’t known as a locker room problem, and Metcalf seems to have a higher upside according to many.<\/p>\n

Pittsburgh is attempting to recover from an up-and-down season that saw it post a 10-7 record but finish with a five-game losing streak, including a 28-14 Wild Card loss to the hated\u00a0Baltimore Ravens\u00a0that bounced them out of the postseason.<\/p>\n
