FRISCO – The\u00a0NFL\u00a0receiver who wrote a book titled “Just Give Me The Damn Ball!” is now demanding he gets his money.<\/p>\n

Keyshawn Johnson, who played for the\u00a0Dallas Cowboys\u00a0at the end of his career in 2004-05, is suing a sports agent\u00a0for almost $1 million. Now an analyst for FS1, Johnson says he recruited several college players to be represented by Christopher Ellison. The two men, he claims, had an oral agreement in which the agent would pay Johnson for his work.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The $1 million amount is for payments Johnson claims were never made. The actions took place more than a decade ago.<\/p>\n

“In return for this player identification, recruitment and eventual entry into the highest level of the game of football, Defendant promised to pay Plaintiff a specific percentage of the player\u2019s signed contract with the NFL,” the lawsuit states. “Each year, Defendant promised to pay Plaintiff one-third of the (3%) three percent commission Defendant made on each of the players\u2019 salary.”<\/p>\n

Johnson’s lawsuit, filed\u00a0May 23 in Los Angeles County Superior Court, alleges that he and Ellison had agreed that Johnson “was to identify players, make the initial contact with them, and recruit them to be represented by” Ellison.<\/p>\n

According to the lawsuit, Johnson successfully recruited four players \u2014\u00a0San Francisco 49ers\u00a0defensive back\u00a0Deommodore Lenoir,\u00a0Chicago Bears\u00a0defensive back Jaylon Johnson,\u00a0Atlanta Falcons\u00a0defensive back Mike Hughes and\u00a0Green Bay Packers\u00a0receiver Romeo Doubs \u2014 for Ellison but “has not received his earned percentage of Defendant\u2019s full commission.”<\/p>\n

During his 11-year NFL career, Johnson made three Pro Bowls and won\u00a0Super Bowl\u00a0XXXVII with the\u00a0Tampa Bay Buccaneers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
