FRISCO – The\u00a0Dallas Cowboys\u00a0rolled the dice this offseason in an attempt to find a No. 2 wideout to complement\u00a0CeeDee Lamb.<\/p>\n

Early on, everyone is happy … especially Pickens, who is now indicating he forced his way out of Pittsburgh after the team failed to move him.<\/p>\n

Pickens took to social media and replied to a post from a Steelers fan who said Pickens was a problem and that’s why the team moved on from him.<\/p>\n

Pickens clarified the situation from his perspective with a reply.<\/p>\n

“Lmao, I play for the\u00a0Cowboys. Now stop reminiscing, bro,” Pickens said. “And trying to justify the trade, y\u2019all just lost another good player to fake reports like this one.”<\/p>\n

Pickens went further, saying Pittsburgh would’ve kept him, but he “forced” his way out.<\/p>\n

“I forced buddy. They were gladly keeping me \u2026 have a nice day and a blessed one my guy,”\u00a0Pickens said.<\/p>\n

We may never know the truth, but Pickens – with a brutal jab here at the Steelers – sure sounds like he’s happy to be in Dallas, And his new teammate, Lamb, has noticed too.<\/p>\n

\u201cI knew who he was as a player, obviously just watching him with the Steelers and how passionate he is about the game, I think they kind of get it confused once you\u2019re so passionate about something you\u2019re willing to do anything for,”\u00a0Lamb said.<\/p>\n

“As far as winning goes, and I mean just being happy in an organization, not saying he wasn\u2019t, not saying that he was, but I mean you never know. He hasn\u2019t stopped smiling since he got here, so I\u2019ll start with that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Steelers made a trade for former\u00a0Seattle Seahawks star wideout DK Metcalf in March, and the writing was on the wall for Pickens, who is entering the final season of his rookie deal.<\/p>\n

The Cowboys have yet to sign Pickens to an extension, but one can only guess that’s in the plans for the draft capital Dallas gave up to acquire him. Pittsburgh received a 2026 third-rounder and a 2027 fifth-rounder in exchange for Pickens and a 2027 sixth-round pick.<\/p>\n
