Jalen Ramsey may still officially be a member of the\u00a0M<\/a>iami Dolphins<\/span>\u00a0but he won’t be joining the team this week.<\/p>\n

The seven-time Pro Bowl cornerback was\u00a0previously linked with a trade out of Miami<\/span>\u00a0before the NFL Draft but with the Dolphins’ mandatory minicamp set to begin this week, Ramsey and the franchise are still locked in a standoff.<\/p>\n

As a result, the defensive back is sitting out of the beginning of minicamp, steering clear of the team’s offseason program, according to\u00a0Ian Rapoport.<\/p>\n

Just a few days ago, head coach Mike McDaniel admitted that he wasn’t keeping track of the trade saga surrounding Ramsey, suggesting that the team had already moved on.<\/p>\n

In April, Rapoport reported that Ramsey and the Dolphins had mutually agreed to explore trade options.<\/p>\n

The insider added that the Dolphins already paid $4million out of the $25.1m that Ramsey is fully guaranteed for 2025.<\/p>\n

Head coach Mike McDaniel admitted that he wasn’t keeping track of the trade saga<\/p>\n

At the end of last month, Ramsey had\u00a0hinted that a trade was imminent,<\/span>\u00a0claiming that\u00a0‘a new chapter awaits’ him.<\/p>\n

‘I\u2019m grateful for each & every chapter so far! every part brought me to a greater version of myself! Regardless of how things \u201cended\u201d, the journey has been LOVE!,’ he wrote on X . ‘God is the GREATEST!’<\/p>\n

He added in a subsequent post: ‘For the record [by the way], i\u2019ve loved every city i\u2019ve played in & the fans who supported! the anger is very misplaced at times but sometimes valid too [laughing-crying emoji] but real ones know the intentions always solid! \u2026 a new chapter awaits.’<\/p>\n

However, over a week later, Ramsey’s route out of Miami has yet to materialize with the end of the offseason program looming.<\/p>\n

The Super Bowl LVI champion and former Rams star signed a three-year extension in 2024, worth narrowly over $72m with $24m guaranteed.<\/p>\n

Ramsey was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016 before being traded to the Rams three years later.<\/p>\n

In Los Angeles, he won a Super Bowl in February 2022 when the Rams beat the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 at SoFi Stadium.<\/p>\n

A year later, he went to Miami when the Dolphins traded tight end Hunter Long and 2023 third round pick to the Rams for him, shortly before that year’s draft.<\/p>\n

The trade speculation surrounding Ramsey comes as his teammate (for now), Tyreek Hill, sparked exit rumors of his own towards the end of the season.<\/p>\n

After the Dolphins ended their 2024 season with a loss to the Jets, Hill declared: ‘I’m out.’<\/p>\n

‘It was great playing here, but at the end of the day, bro, I got to do what’s best for my career,’ he told reporters. ‘I’m too much of a competitor to be just out there.’<\/p>\n
