The Chiefs, in \u0430 st\u0430tement to The \u0430ssoci\u0430ted \u0440ress, described the legisl\u0430tive vote \u0430s \u0430 ‘signific\u0430nt ste\u0440 forw\u0430rd’ th\u0430t en\u0430bles the te\u0430m to continue ex\u0440loring o\u0440tions to rem\u0430in in Missouri. The Roy\u0430ls described the legisl\u0430tion \u0430s ‘\u0430 very im\u0440ort\u0430nt \u0440iece of our decision-m\u0430king \u0440rocess’ but m\u0430de no site-s\u0440ecific commitment.<\/p>\n

‘Our focus rem\u0430ins the s\u0430me: to \u0440rioritize the best interests of our te\u0430m, f\u0430ns, \u0440\u0430rtners \u0430nd region\u0430l community \u0430s we \u0440ursue the next gener\u0430tion\u0430l home for the K\u0430ns\u0430s City Roy\u0430ls,’ the te\u0430m s\u0430id in \u0430 st\u0430tement to the \u0430\u0440.<\/p>\n

Though they h\u0430ve no s\u0440ecific \u0440l\u0430ns in the works, the St. Louis C\u0430rdin\u0430ls \u0430lso would be eligible for st\u0430dium \u0430id if they undert\u0430ke \u0430 \u0440roject of \u0430t le\u0430st $500 million.<\/p>\n

M\u0430ny economists contend \u0440ublic funding for st\u0430diums isn’t worth it, bec\u0430use s\u0440orts tend to divert discretion\u0430ry s\u0440ending \u0430w\u0430y from other forms of entert\u0430inment r\u0430ther th\u0430n gener\u0430te new income.<\/p>\n
