The Dallas Cowboys are unlikely to trade for Miami Dolphins star Jalen Ramsey.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Dallas Cowboys\u00a0are consistently linked to opposing stars in NFL rumors, most of which never come to fruition. One name that emerged as a potential trade target in recent weeks is\u00a0Miami Dolphins\u00a0cornerback\u00a0Jalen Ramsey.<\/p>\n

How did this blockbuster trade rumor start for the Cowboys? Back in May,\u00a0ESPN\u2019s Jeremy Fowler\u00a0floated the idea of Dallas being a potential landing spot for Ramsey.<\/p>\n

\u201cNFC East could be one to watch,\u201d Fowler said during a May 23, 2025, episode of \u201cSportsCenter.\u201d \u201c(The) Dallas Cowboys, look, they made three trades this offseason, four players on rookie deals. Could they make a fourth trade on a NFL veteran who\u2019s on a bigger contract? Certainly, but they need cornerback help.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I checked with somebody in Dallas, they said, \u2018Look, it\u2019s possible we might not be done. It\u2019s slow right now, but, you know, we could always be looking to add.’\u201d<\/p>\n

The Cowboys have finally responded to the Ramsey rumors.<\/p>\n

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones attempted to pour cold water on the possibility of trading for Ramsey. The star corner\u2019s three-year,\u00a0$72 million contract\u00a0is slated to run through the 2028 season. Jones had a six-word response when asked about the Ramsey rumors.<\/p>\n

Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones on if there are any more moves to be made to improve the roster: \u201cWe don\u2019t have anything that\u2019s on the front burner.\u201d<\/p>\n

Not only does it look like the Cowboys are out on Ramsey, but there does not appear to be any major moves on the horizon with training camp a little more than one month away from kicking off.<\/p>\n

The Cowboys Are Likely Preparing to Sign Micah Parsons to a Lucrative Contract Extension<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The news comes after multiple Cowboys insiders also shot down the idea of Dallas striking a trade for Ramsey. Dallas is preparing to give Micah Parsons a lucrative contract extension.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN mentions the\u00a0#Cowboys\u00a0\u201ccould be one to watch\u201d for a Jalen Ramsey trade.<\/p>\n

Why? They still have a need at the position and have shown to be aggressive this offseason with trades.<\/p>\n

Nothing imminent; just something to monitor.<\/p>\n

Star corner Trevon Diggs is on a five-year,\u00a0$97 million contract,\u00a0making the idea of also taking on Ramsey\u2019s deal as unlikely. Former Cowboys scout Brian Broaddus is among those who dismissed the trade rumors.<\/p>\n

\u201cHearing late last night that the Jalen Ramsey news was not accurate according to a couple of folks I got to talk to,\u201d\u00a0Broaddus said\u00a0in a May 25, message on X. \u201cDon\u2019t think I was getting steered the wrong way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Longtime Cowboys reporter Ed Werder also downplayed the chances of Dallas landing Ramsey.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do not believe this has even been a topic of discussion within the Cowboys at this time,\u201d\u00a0Werder remarked\u00a0in a May 24, message on X.<\/p>\n

Cowboys Rumors: Could Dallas Make a Run at Ex-Packers CB Jaire Alexander?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

If Dallas was looking for a cheaper option, veteran cornerback Jaire Alexander could be an option. The Packers are on the verge of releasing the defender, per\u00a0NFL Network\u2019s Ian Rapoport.\u00a0The 33rd Team\u2019s Marcus Mosher does not view the Cowboys as a fit for Alexander.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think the Cowboys will look at Jaire Alexander,\u201d\u00a0Mosher noted\u00a0in a June 9, message on X. \u201cThey already have enough injured CBs on their roster.\u201d<\/p>\n
