Freak of nature. No other way to put it.<\/p>\n

Sam Williams Sr. tore his ACL and partially tore his MCL last July 28 \u2014 just days into\u00a0Dallas Cowboys\u00a0training camp. Fast-forward less than a year, and he just posted the second-fastest speed on the team during mandatory minicamp: 21.4 miles per hour.<\/p>\n

Only\u00a0CeeDee Lamb\u00a0ran faster (21.9 mph), and he\u2019s, you know\u2026 built to run fast. Williams? He\u2019s 260 pounds.<\/p>\n

That,\u00a0Cowboys\u00a0Nation, a different galaxy of athleticism.<\/p>\n

To put it into context,\u00a0Philadelphia Eagles\u00a0breakaway superstar\u00a0Saquon Barkley\u2019s fifth-fastest carry all season in 2024 was 21.9 mph.<\/p>\n

Barkley is 230 pounds. Williams is 30 pounds heavier \u2014 and coming off knee surgery.<\/p>\n

And yet somehow, he\u2019s still maybe the third or fourth most dangerous pass rusher on this Cowboys team.<\/p>\n

Micah Parsons is the best edge rusher in football. Donovan Ezeiruaku, the most prolific pass rusher in college last year (17.5 sacks), is waiting to explode. Dante Fowler Jr. just notched 10.5 sacks in Washington.<\/p>\n

And then there\u2019s Sam Williams \u2013 who is a work in progress in terms of his off-field maturity, no doubt \u2013 with the kind of recovery, raw speed, and way-up-there ceiling that makes you wonder what\u2019s coming next.<\/p>\n
