Micah Parsons<\/strong>\u00a0has to wait a bit longer to receive a contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys. In the meantime, owner\u00a0Jerry Jones<\/strong>\u00a0decided to raise the salary of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.<\/p>\n

According to reports, Jones and the Cowboys\u2019 front office increased the salary of DCC by 400%. This generous revamp comes months after Netflix released the first season of\u00a0America\u2019s Sweethearts,\u00a0<\/em>based on the cheerleaders who have represented the Cowboys during NFL games over the years.<\/p>\n

Sports Illustrated<\/em>\u00a0reported that most of the cheerleaders had to work two jobs to make ends meet because the wages from the cheering gig weren\u2019t enough to pay bills.<\/p>\n

A former cheerleader named\u00a0Erica Wilkins<\/strong>\u00a0sued the Cowboys back in 2018 due to pay disparity. In the\u00a0lawsuit, Wilkins alleged earning $7 an hour with no overtime pay and $200 per game.<\/p>\n

After agreeing on an out-of-court settlement, the Cowboys cheerleaders\u2019 salaries doubled. They now earned $14 an hour and $500 per game they appeared in.<\/p>\n
