Baltimore Ravens\u00a0kicker\u00a0Justin Tucker\u00a0was released during the offseason after spending the last 13 seasons with the team. His kicking showed signs of decline during the 2024\u00a0NFL\u00a0season.<\/p>\n

Also, they released him on May 5, 2025, and\u00a0Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reported\u00a0then about Tucker,<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Ravens announced Monday they released the veteran kicker, who has been accused by 16 massage therapists of sexually inappropriate behavior during bodywork sessions. Tucker is going to potentially be a future hall of famer at the kicker position. He was one of the best kickers at his position for the last decade plus. Tucker helped the Ravens deliver a Super Bowl title during the 2012 season against the\u00a0San Francisco 49ers.<\/p>\n

Zrebiec reported that the Ravens are going to be having a kicker competition entering NFL training camp.\u00a0He said,<\/p>\n

\u201cKnowing they were likely to\u00a0release longtime standout Justin Tucker, the Ravens did extensive work on all the available kickers in the draft and decided Arizona\u2019s Tyler Loop was the guy they wanted. They used a sixth-round pick to make sure they got him. Loop is still the favorite to succeed Tucker, but it appears the Ravens are headed for their first training camp kicking competition since Tucker beat out Billy Cundiff before the 2012 season. Loop had a few rocky offseason practices, opening the door for John Hoyland, an undrafted rookie out of Wyoming. Hoyland\u2019s form has been good enough to suggest the Ravens could have a difficult decision to make late in the preseason.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

For now, Loop is the favorite on the Ravens depth chart to win the kicking job over Hoyland. It will be interesting to see how head coach John Harbaugh decides to split the kicking competition between the two players before the 2025 NFL season begins. There will be a lot of questions about the kicking game even when training camp concludes and this is what life is going to be like without Tucker on the team.<\/p>\n
