Maybe it\u2019s the gang at ESPN that is grasping for straws at QB.<\/p>\n

Or maybe it\u2019s \u2026 The\u00a0Pittsburgh Steelers\u00a0themselves.<\/p>\n

Yes,\u00a0Aaron Rodgers\u00a0finally made the worst kept secret in football an official matter of business recently when the veteran\u00a0quarterback\u00a0signed with the team.<\/p>\n

Pittsburgh had one of the more questionable quarterback situations in the AFC before the deal that now provides at least some temporary stability.<\/p>\n

\u201cTemporary\u201d is the key word here because the Steelers have struggled to settle on a bona fide franchise centerpiece since Ben Roethlisberger retired after the 2021 season.<\/p>\n

Rodgers, 41, will be gone after this season. And while the Ink on his contract is still wet and while the air blown in Aaron\u2019s pre-retirement is still hot \u2026<\/p>\n

Bristol believes their next franchise quarterback may already be in the league. insists that\u00a0Indianapolis Colts\u00a0quarterback\u00a0Anthony Richardson could be in play when the Steelers are forced into another quarterback decision a year from now.<\/p>\n

Said ESPN\u2019s Kevin Clark:\u201dI\u2019ve never seen anybody more destined to be in the 2026 Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback competition than Anthony Richardson, because I\u2019m looking at this and I\u2019m seeing a training camp where\u00a0Daniel Jones\u00a0will probably start with the ones… He\u2019s going to get a good start somewhere else.\u201d<\/p>\n

Clark’s belief comes with the premise that the Colts are not willing to wait on Richarson – their recent first-round pick – to put the pieces together. Injuries have plagued his young career and another shoulder injury has befallen him this offseason.<\/p>\n

So if he\u2019s ever made available?<\/p>\n

We say the Steelers need-long term stability under center. Richardson’s track record to this point screams the opposite. While he has a fascinating collection of physical gifts, he is no generational quarterback talent and the injuries worsen his case.<\/p>\n

Does a trade for Arizona\u2019s\u00a0Kyler Murray\u00a0solve that issue? That\u2019s another quarterback name being floated by the network.<\/p>\n

Pittsburgh’s addition of Rodgers and is designed to make the 2025 edition of the Steelers a contender.<\/p>\n
