The\u00a0Pittsburgh Steelers\u00a0have\u00a0Aaron Rodgers\u00a0and they have DK Metcalf and after that?<\/p>\n

With their trade-away of George Pickens to the\u00a0Dallas Cowboys, it can be argued that they need more than just a body to complete their receivers room.<\/p>\n

Maybe somebody in the group of Calvin Austin and Robert Woods and Roman Wilson will jump out as the candidate to join Metcalf?<\/p>\n

Or maybe, as folks continue to push, maybe Amari Cooper is the answer.<\/p>\n

Cooper has got critics who think he’s “done.” And Cooper is on the open market for a reason, still, after a rough go with the\u00a0Cleveland Browns\u00a0and the\u00a0Buffalo Bills\u00a0last season … and of course, after he was famously trade-dumped by the Dallas Cowboys before that.<\/p>\n

His problem, as they termed it in Dallas, is “shrinkage.” Amari – while being a five-time Pro Bowler – does not consistently find ways to come up big in big moments. Nor, by reputation, does he fight through adversity, including minor injuries.<\/p>\n

But still … that push just won’t stop.<\/p>\n

From\u00a0SportsCasting’s Dan Girolamo’s list\u00a0of potential landing spots for Cooper …<\/p>\n

“Outside of Metcalf, the Steelers\u2019 receiving corps is average at best. Robert Woods, Calvin Austin III, Roman Wilson, Scotty Miller, and Ben Skowronek will be in the running for snaps. If Cooper signs with the Steelers, he\u2019d immediately be in the mix to be the No. 2 receiver behind Metcalf.”<\/p>\n

“In the mix”? Maybe. Is that what the Steelers need? Someone who was once a $100 million receiver but who now – by the writer’s own admission – only projects to be “in the mix” with the likes of Ben Skowronek and Scotty Miller?<\/p>\n

Cooper is almost 31 years old. If he signed anywhere – and it’s telling that he hasn’t – it’ll be his fourth team in four years.<\/p>\n

He had the worst year of his career in 2024, as he posted career lows in catches (44), yards (547), and touchdowns (four) and struggled to find snaps with\u00a0Josh Allen’s Buffalo Bills, who essentially benched him when the going got rough in playoffs.<\/p>\n
