The\u00a0Pittsburgh Steelers\u00a0were criticized for trading receiver Diontae Johnson to the\u00a0Carolina Panthers\u00a0early in the 2024 offseason.<\/p>\n

General manager Omar Khan doesn\u2019t seem so crazy now.<\/p>\n

Johnson didn\u2019t last a full season with the Panthers, getting shipped ahead of the trade deadline to the\u00a0Baltimore Ravens. That\u2019s not an indictment on his value \u2013 but his price is. Johnson and a sixth-round pick was traded to Baltimore for a fifth-round pick in what could come out to be fewer than a dozen-pick difference in the 2025\u00a0NFL Draft; all but meaningless that late on Day 3.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s already proved his (lack of) worth to the Ravens.<\/p>\n

After just one catch for six yards in his first four games with Baltimore, Johnson did not appear in Sunday\u2019s 24-19 loss to the\u00a0Philadelphia Eagles. But it wasn\u2019t because the Ravens didn\u2019t want him on the field.<\/p>\n

Johnson refused to enter the game, presumably unhappy about his playing time. He has since been suspended for the team\u2019s next game, Week 15 against the\u00a0New York Giants.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have made the difficult decision to suspend Diontae Johnson for our upcoming game against the New York Giants for conduct detrimental to the team,\u201d Baltimore said in a statement. \u201cDiontae\u2019s suspension stems from refusing to enter our game against the Philadelphia Eagles.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will have no further comments on this matter going forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pittsburgh\u00a0will visit the Ravens for Johnson\u2019s return to action, although his role remains unclear.<\/p>\n

Baltimore traded for Johnson as depth behind receivers Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, and Nelson Agholor. But he hasn\u2019t made any semblance of an impact, and the way things are trending, there isn\u2019t much coming.<\/p>\n
